I agree, instead of claiming north and east Africa which are not my ancestors, I really want to explore what central and west Africa was like before slavery. I get the feeling that we didn't just live in huts and mud but I'm not really sure where to start

It's apart of our history. Fact. Just not the most recent. BTW I rarely research ancient Egypt I find West African history very interesting. Pretty much all I study. But, I'm curious as to why you, unprovoked, decided to make a thread attacking those who are interested in a more ancient civilization of ours. Does their interest in Egypt somehow stop me from reading about the inner workings of society in Loango in the 16th century? Do you attack Europeans who focus on ancient Greece?
Well I don't attack Europeans because thats not my history so I don't really care. I just would like to see more discussions and dialogue about other regions. We know the Egyptians were black at some point I just would to see more talk about other parts.

If that's true why didn't you make a thread on West and Central African history? Or bump and older one?

Who do central and west africans descend from? :ohhh:
Well we I'm going to give one example because there are many civilizations. But lets just focus on one of my favorite unspoken

Some people say this west afican civilization had ties to ancient egypt but we really don't know there's not much info, but this is the type of shyt we should be talking and learning more about.

The Nok are 3000 years younger than the 1st dynasty.

Ever heard of Chadic people? Ever heard of the Green Sahara? Ever heard of Neolithic Khartoum and Shaheinab culture?

No but if we discuss it more here than I could learn more that's the whole premise I don't wanna know just see threads about Egypt or other well known civilizations. I wanna know alot about central and west africa.

Your premise is wrong.

All indigenous Africans come from the Nile so there is more history there thus more information and attention.

That's what I was thinking, comes off as condescending when we could easily just get into the void.

You definitely should check out Cheikh Anta Diop - The African Origin of Civilization (Myth Or Reality)

So when Ancient Egypt was reigning you mean to tell me there wasn't other west african civilizations? Serious ?

Ancient Egypt lasted for 4000 years. There is little to no evidence of any civilizations during the Old and Middle Kingdoms and you see the first civilizations in West Africa/Central Africa pop up around 2000-1000 BC.
