mario 64 for the first time was pretty incredible. the n64 definitely hooked me onto video games. goldeneye, mario, mario kart, starfox were life to me back then.

but ps2 was the first time i was taken aback at a video game system. from then on i knew things were gonna get crazy.

i was playing warcraft 3 and counter strike on the computer too so i was fiending for consoles to get online capability

ps3 was such a game changer but in a sense it killed consoles in the traditional sense

kids these days won't have to plug in shytty controllers to play a madden or a fps :pachaha: they won't know how amazing it is to have the "good" controller :ahh: :umad:

they just hop online, which is cool, but not the same

consoles brought people literally together to play games. computer gaming was the isolated way of gaming.

headsets are cool but still not the same as physically being with people to game and that's what i loved about consoles

i have no idea how i got into this rant but yeah there you go :yeshrug:

Yeah if you really want to know you have to see old articles and reviews from gamers in their early to mid 30s to really understand why Mario 64 left us all like :dwillhuh:

Mario 64 and Zelda oot were the first 2 3D masterpieces IMO. 1998 MGS was another, they were clearly a level above the rest.

90's kids or 90's teens? Are you sure you want the answer from some young punks that was still in osh kosh b'gosh shyt eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and fascinated by Dora The Explorer and Disney radio? Or do you want to hear from from some teens who were pretty much in middle school and high school, a lot more self sufficient, could make better practical decision and could better understand the concept of gaming and the world around them?:francis:

Cuz as a 90's teen.... that shyt was amazing.... I remember the 1st time I saw Mortal Kombat coming from being a big Street Fighter player I was like :whoo:

was born in 90.. it was pretty gradual.

With all due respect my G:whoa:.... what you know about Sonic, Tecmo Super Bowl, FF IV, Spiderman, and a few other classics in 91?:leon:

My young G, you was still riding in car seats and putting random items around you in your mouth. But the time you could speak in proper sentences years later and use a crayon, we was off that.

I played a lot of Mario, Sonic and Donkey Kong Country growing up. One day I had a bunch of friends over the crib playing Sega. Then my older cousin came over. He plugged the system up in my older brother's room. I had no idea what was going on. Then I got the call. It's what I imagine players in the D League feel like going to the NBA. I walked in and left my friends in the living room.

They were playing Mario 64 and I was amazed! Like mind blown. I didn't have gaming mags and Internet definitely wasn't an option then. It was commercials and word of mouth. You know, my mother's friend at church, son, cousin said blah blah blah. But yeah, it might sound corny but that's a moment I'll never forget. The exploration and graphics, the controls? It just all made sense. Even though the controller had a million buttons and a camera to control it was easy.
