I was confused by the whole situation. the old dude drinks but doesn't really do anything crazy or offensive when he drinks.. When he was in Thailand he was literally just standing there staring off into space and his girl was acting like he's an out of control drunk
the recent situation he was drinking but they were all just talking and having a good time. but they turned it into a he's out of control narrative when the guy is just sitting there sipping on a drink.

TLC doesnt want to get sued again for tarnishing his character so they edited it to make the old dude look innocent. That's why it didn't make sense why she was so upset in Thailand.
For the jacuzzi scene, they also edited out what he said to make the brother angry. If you paid attention he called dude his brother then fiancee asked what he meant and he said it's an American joke and she wouldn't get it. Then he started speaking racist ebonics but they only showed a little of it and most people missed it entirely. That's why he didn't like dude calling him "brother"
