I don’t a lot about New Japan. Was Okada a big deal in Japan? From what I read people are mad at the way he’s used in AEW.

He's the puro wrestler of the 2010s. You wouldn't know it by his presentation, booking, and own effort in ring lately.

People are idiots. Okada was a huge star in Japan yes but the fact that he does some "comedy" over here which he's good at hasn't taken away that he can still beat people up.

In Japan, it's a more pure sports realism presentation than in America.... that wasn't going to fly in the U.S. for long before people would call it boring.
