About the fight, I just wonder if Charlo can handle being countered.

Harrison and Castano was teeing off on him in the 4 fights he had against em and we know Canelo WILL make you pay when he counters

But PBC is hurting for cash. PBC makes the decisions and is the one that secured the 3 fight deal with Canelo, not Derick James

On top of that fighters themselves see the opportunity for a payday too. Spence himself is on record of saying he's dying to fight with Canelo, even though there's a high possibility that he will lose that fight and it would be none other than an overmatched spectacle
according to who? you gotta stop following the tin foil hat youtube boxing channels, they've been saying they're running out of money since a year after it's inception

Showtime Merges With Paramount+. Will It Stop Broadcasting Boxing?

https://www.badlefthook.com/platfor...lus-what-could-that-mean-for-boxing-news-2023

"First, HBO pretty much dropped it’s longstanding boxing broadcasts without so much as a second glance in 2018. The network was looking to appeal to a more upscale audience and boxing was simply too gauche for its newfound urbane sensibilities. While this might not be the case with Showtime – Paramount+ is certainly interested in the largest audience possible, after all – it’s worth asking how successful boxing remains on the network

Saying boxing ain’t the draw it used to be is something of an understatement at the moment. Pay per views just ain’t bringing in a million buys anymore, unless perhaps, a social media influencer is involved. What’s more, it’s doubtful most Americans know who heavyweight titlist Tyson Fury is, or even who Canelo Alvarez is. On top of all that, Showtime has been broadcasting pay per views which frankly aren’t pay per view worthy

Conspicuously and completely absent from both the Bakish and McCarthy memos outlining both Showtime’s notable history and the vision for the future of Paramount+ with Showtime are the words “Sports” and “Boxing.”

It’s an ominous omission, given a line in McCarthy’s memo stating:

[W]e will divert investment away from areas that are underperforming and that account for less than 10% of our views.
That statement came out shortly before a second Deadline report that Showtime will not produce second seasons of original series “American Gigolo” and “Let the Right One In,” and will not proceed with the completed first season of “Three Women,” a new scripted series starring Shailene Woodley and Betty Gilpin, which will be shopped elsewhere.

The comments and moves are very reminiscent of similar transitions at HBO, which famously dropped boxing completely back in 2018 after 45 years and over 1,000 fights. "

Showtime will be absorbed into Paramount+, so what could that mean for boxing?

I'm not understanding what Showtime merging with Paramount+ has to do with PBC hurting for cash. Showtime has kept Stephen Espinoza on board to lead Showtime Sports and he's dedicated to boxing, HBO had Peter Nelson who was not. If Showtime/Paramount decides to can Espinoza or slash boxing from it's budget, then we can start to wonder about what happens with PBC since they will be without a broadcast partner.

Are Charlo's recent "fight night" weights available? I wonder how much he rehydrates and has he even come into the ring close to 168. Seeing him in interviews out of camp it doesn't seem like he gets too big and cuts alot of weight.

Porter Said Charlo is already a natural 160-168 fighter so people should consider this an even fight. And that jermell has a great chance. B hop said the same. I expect jermell to be solid come fight night. I don't see canelo being able to walk through him at all. This is going to be a chess match.

I brlieve in the DJ system. The question is post injury impact to his pop + will he be in his own head overthinking like the Castano 1 fight
