How does Canelo do against David Morell?
I think canelo can edge him. David would box well early and get a lead. But canelo can wear him down late, plus morrell never been on that big stage. Them lights is different when the world watching. Experience is important.

For all my opinions on canelo good or bad. You can't deny he has an iron chin and very good power and upper body head movement on defense. Can morrell take that for 12 rounds and fight back or when he gets hit with hard counters decide to survive? We don't know. Floyd Mayweather and bivol both stood in the fire and used IQ to win along with sharp punching and setting traps.

I do think benavidez and Andrade are different animals and more prepared to win a fight vs canelo than morrell.

His defense is nowhere that level. Preposterous.

That’s what you think because you probably never watched him from the beginning of his career. Bud don’t have to move much to make you miss. He became a destroyer because nobody want to see a defensive fight like that. People hated Floyd but Bud not a talker like Floyd so he had to change his style. Pernell wasn’t a big puncher or a physically strong fighter so he took the thing he did best and perfected it.

In a way I am surprised at Charlo performance but then again the signs were there. Talmbout he don’t need to be a bad guy and he don’t like to talk shyt anymore because he is mature. Man, that’s what made Charlo’s respectable. Marvin Hagler rollin over in his grave! *bubba dub coice*

RJJ put on 25 lbs and went up and beat Ruiz. Let’s not act like Ruiz wasn’t shyt. Why y’all think someone gotta knock someone out or hurt them to win? Floyd gave him a boxing LESSON. Canelo wasn’t muscle-ing Mell, Mell was initiating all the clinches. All Canelo did was load up and stalk Mell. He ain’t doubt that shyt to a real boxer with real defense who can score with a variety of punches. Mell was even throwing in the first few rounds. I thought he would do better but after the first 90 sec I knew he was gonna lose. No jab, slow, no body work.

Any time you using arguably the literal boxing GOAT talent wise your argument walking on shaky ground. Its only one RJJ. And it wasnt even 25 lbs

Crawford would be putting on more weight than RJJ did for that fight. :dead:

I hope this happens. You stans are basing this all of him beating Spence handily. Spence the welterweight…make it make sense :mjlol:

I dont even fukking like Canelo but this is preposterous. Not even saying hed slightly edge him or some shyt. nikkas like he gonna knock him out or box his head off. He gonna walk right through his shyt too because if he had power to make Canelo respect him at 168 hed be flatlining people like he was Wilder off of glancing blows

People talking about Canelo vs Benavidez, overlooking Andrade.
Whoever wins that fight is next for Canelo imo. Boo Boo has the skill advantage over Benavidez and he’ll stop fukking around in this one, gonna be more focused than ever. We’ll see if he holds up to the pressure but the result of that fight is not set in stone.

Bro, even one of Crawford's trainers said the Canelo jump would be too big literally the day after the Spence fight when they were on a high.

Best believe Crawford wanted that Charlo win because he and his team both knew he could pick apart Charlo at the higher weights, but not Canelo.

Expectations can be used against your career in an ugly fashion.

That fight happens and he loses, people going to downplay him. That fight doesn't happen and people going to say he ducked.

The logical and real answer is nobody should even be bringing up that fight as a 20 lbs. jump vs someone who is not easily out-skilled, younger and still around their prime is asking for way too much.

My clear, honest opinion if this fight were to happen next year - Crawford would look much worse than Canelo did vs Bivol. You can't beat simple physics. Abstract the principles and break it down: you're asking a 36 year old to put on 20 lbs. and fight a defensive 33 year old fighter who has 20 lbs. worth of natural muscle and functional strength on him.

Would be an outright scary 12 round beatdown if he doesn't at least take 1 fight at 154, 2 at 160 and 1 or 2 at 168 first and do it the right, natural way. That ain't going to happen because dude would be 40 by that time. Canelo is at the point right now where only an exceptional natural 168 lbs. fighter having the night of his life or a really good fighter beyond his weight can beat him right now.

The same way we weren't expecting Floyd to fight Andre Ward we shouldn't expect Bud to fight Canelo. Putting on a flash "functional" 20 lbs. this year or next at 36 yers old and expecting a competitive fight is absolutely ridiculous and unrealistic. It actually does Bud no favors. For people seriously entertaining it, why not Crawford vs Bivol or Usyk then?

Unfortunately, these two fighters' timelines don't match. Maybe if they were both in their 20's. Let Bud rest on his accomplishments and realistic targets.
