Brook was a great fighter, wouldn't say elite or all time great, but if he didn't have the eye injuries he would still be in the top 5 of the 147 rankings. Brook beat Porter, and I could see him beating both Thurman and Danny Garcia. I don't know about Pacman or Bud but it wouldn't be easy for them.

Problem is with boxing today there is no single boxer in any division(yes even that overhyped ass Lomachenko who lost to Orlando fukking Salido :scust:) who stands out above the rest. Last generation was easy to tell. Mayweather and Pacquiao were clearly the two best fighters at the glamour weights, just like Wladimir Klitschko was the best in the bigger weights. None of these divisions have a lot of depth past the top 3-5, it's telling when Mikey Garcia has to move up 2 weight classes to make a fight with an opponent, or Rigo has to move up 2 weight classes to fight a guy. Only 147 and 168 IMO have any semblance of depth and even then compared to the last generation those divisions would still be top heavy. Idk bro you can only beat who is able to be put in front of you. :yeshrug:

Plus it's hard to tell because honestly look at the top of the welterweight division. In no order you got Pac, Spence, Bud, Thurman, Porter, and Danny Garcia... Maybe throw Ugas in there as well for arguments sake. To be frank Pac and Thurman are the only two on that list with truly solid resumes. Pac does't need an explaination, and Thurman has wins over Porter and Swift and even then that is literally just good enough to get the nod.

Spence beat Brook, which is a good win. He dominated Mikey but he really is a glorified lightweight.

Bud's best win at 147 is against one legged Benavidez and he still made Crawford pull tricks out his bag for the win.(anyone who ranks Bud at 147 based off what he accomplished at 135 and 140 is an idiot, whole new division with whole new fighters).

Porters career best win is what Devin Alexander maybe Broner, ok wins but nothing special.

Swift beat Peterson and Khan(before they were washed), ok wins but nothing special.

Ugas aint beat nobody.

Like I'm with you we really aint seen these cats in the ring with some world beaters I'm going by the eye test like you. I'm starting to understand your perspective on boxing a little more, you just like a certain style of fighter given what you have said and Spence style just don't resonate with you.

Agree with Atlas...I see the same nikkas who were convinced Mikey was gonna box Errol's ears off are talking themselves into Porter winning and throwing up their irrelevant gifs, this thread is gonna be funny to come back to on early Sunday morning

Funny thing is, people are hyping Porter up to beat Spence when as far as Spence 3 best opponents: Brook, Garcia, and Porter he is by far the least skilled boxer of the three, yet people are saying this is the measuring stick test for Spence. It's strange, like what do people see in Porter? I aint seen all of Porters fights, but I've seen the ones that matter(Alexander, Broner, Brook, Thurman, D. Garcia, Ugas) and he aint looked impressive to me in ANY of them, the wins or losses, even with me taking into account his ugly ass style makes him look kinda goofy at times. Like I could understand hyping up Bud or Pac if they were in the other corner, but what do people see in Porter or do they hate Spence that much?

One observation about Porter is he seemed more effective when he used his own gym with all that high tech shyt in Las Vegas.
Kenny decided to shut it down for financial reasons and train at Barry Hunters gym.

my opinion here is that the gym was probably worth the investment if it’s producing the desired results.

I let out a sigh of relief...lol
Exactlyyyyy...

Even take Thurman out.... cause hes fought some good guys but eye test.... hes a regular fighter.
Really right now its Pac and Canelo.

But I'm cool with the rest of the other guys fighting each other... testing each other, making themselves better.

It truly feels like we have a whole new crop of fighters. Potentially great fighters... growing right in front of our eyes..

People are ruining it by over hyping these dudes...
We just gotta relax and enjoy these guys trying to become the best out of each other.

Like if spence was to lose to porter... he doesnt automatically become "trash" or a fraud to me...
That's how everybody else sees it.

Like when broner started to lose, he became a meme... and someone to laugh at...
But that muthafuka can box his ass off... super talented. He just lost to some dudes can fight.

But yea, I love this game lol

I personally dont think anybody hates spence.
If anything, people can see him as the future Top guy in the sport... the face of the sport. Since Mayweather is gone and pac will be gone soon.

I can see Spence and canelo... fighting to be the top guy in boxing... wants manny leaves.
Cause I still don't know if they could beat his old, experienced ass

From a technical stand point, I just see his flaws.
Doesnt mean somebody can beat him with those flaws...
I just know as u go up in levels of sports... the competition have certain abilities, especially experienced competition. And usually they are able to expose those minor flaws.

Mikey garcia, wasnt tryna win in that fight. I didn't see him do anything to show me he was willing to get knocked out to try to win.
Brooks is the only fighter on Spence's resume so far, worth mentioning... and he is only ok..
Porter is another, "only ok" fighter...
But he brings a couple of qualities to the table that makes this fight intersting.
His motor, his unorthodox fighting style... and the fact that he goes out with no fear, actually trying to win fights... even if that means getting potentially hurt.

Nobody is hyping porter up. Some people can just see how this is a good test for spence, on his way to becoming the face of boxing.

I was at the porter vs D. Garcia fight...
Porter impressed me in that fight because danny is better than him... I personally think Danny, technically and fundamentally, is higher than most of his contemporaries... but porter won the 2cd half of that fight just through hard work...

Theres something that teddy atlas always talks about.. he calls it getting put "deep waters"... I love that.. cause that always is the only true measuring stick for a fighter....
I believe porter is the type of fighter to put a guy like Spence in those deep waters.
And if spence is THAT GUY... hes gone make it out of those deep waters, if he isnt... he'll drown.
I've seen it many times

Yea I'm not sure why some spence fans get defensive when people mention his flaws. Every fighter has flaws. Floyd did as well. And floyd was also tested many times in his career. One of those times by Marcos maidana who he was vastly superior to in every way. Sometimes it's not just about technical ability. Every guy has a style they struggle with. And I just think porter may be that style for spence. He hasn't seen anything like this before. I think porter's physical strength and awkward movement will give him some issues.

But maybe I'm wrong. I hope I am. Spence is my 2nd favorite fighter behind canelo. And to me the best fight that can be made in boxing right now is Spence vs Crawford. So I'm rooting for both guys until they meet. But over anything I'm just hoping this is a great fight. If porter happens to pull off the upset that would be a dope story too. There's gonna be a lot of eyes on boxing on Saturday. I think spence and porter are gonna do something special. I just feel it in the air :banderas:

Neither of em seem very eager for it. Lol. Derrick james and Spence been canelo fans for a while. They both know there's levels to the game. Errol ain't scared of anybody, but Derrick would never let him fight canelo right now.
They dont need to be eager...its a huge fight two years from now. But it's what I always said would come into play..Canelo dont have the stamina for a Errol Spence problem.
