Ricochet has had a weird AEW run. Every singles match he has had he’s looked worse than his opponent but got the W every time

He's probably making more than all 3 of his opponents combined

That's how Ricochet does it. He uses the toe as a whip. It's how you do it in MMA/UFC. It's "legit" technique if you wanna say it that way.
