How did rock look? He usually wins by k.o. but it went to decision. Had a feeling they would show the card. Missed them.

Legit question. Would you be praising Manny or GGG for fighting an opponent of that caliber? Because clearly you're deflecting with the "oh you just whining" steez.

Who complains about the matchup being bad AFTER watching the fight going into it already knowing it wasn't the greatest matchup?

It was a tune-up fight against the dude he was supposed to fight in November, who's only lost a SD to Jack, so at the end of the day he still fought the 2 guys originally meant for him...Alexander Brand (who he was supposed to fight in November last year) & Sullivan Barrera. He just fought them in reverse.

So you can't criticize something you thought would be bad and turned out it was? Please. There's nothing wrong with being a fan of a particular fighter but you've got a Ward can do no wrong steez going on....Paul Smith and Brand are a far cry from his killer run of 07-12. Yes a lot of that has to do with lack of compelling matchups, promo issues and people retiring but no way was this fight worthy of HBO or his talent. He was against a FNF level guy.

I can't remember the last time I brought up how horrible a matchup with Quackiao and Algieri was.
After watching Algieri getting dominated the way I said he would, there was no point in talking about the matchup...the fight already happened, so I talk about the fight itself.
When B-Hop was Ward's age (and younger) he almost always pressed for the KO...especially against Alexander Brand caliber opponents...it wasn't until he hit his late-30's that his fights started to go the distance.

i don't know man. I think ward was tryna get em out....maybe with just one hard straight left or right...but he was trying. brand(who has never been stopped) just had a good chin combined with the fact that ward aint a big puncher anyways.

And he was huge at that weight...he looked significantly bigger than everybody he faced @ 160...he was supposed to score nasty KO's given the size advantage + caliber of oppostion he was facing.

The only world class fighter Brand has been in with is Badou Jack...who can't really crack (<<<<BARS) so it's hard to say if he REALLY has a good chin being that he's never been in with a world class puncher.
