What really hurt Kovalev was that right hand not the body shots in the 8th

He ain't have no energy left in them arms; shyts probably felt heavy like sand bags so he was tryna buy time. Problem was Kovalev recovered during that time period, got his second wind, and and started popping Yarde in the face.. who still didn't have the energy to dirty box. So he just postured and pointed to his chest to try and get Kovalev riled up.. Kov kept his cool and at that point shyt got ugly

Yeah Yarde used up so much energy trying to get Kov out of there in round 8 that he had nothing left for round 9 and Kov had time to recover because of this. Yarde should have spent more time early on attacking the body.

He'd knock em both out easy.

This fight both fighters had the stamina of D level heavies. Domination by Kov. Yarde needs to work on his conditioning asap.
Beterbeast threw 1000 punches in his fight vs that german cat. Chin is in question but we don't have stamina problems.

Damn you hate to see it.:mjcry:

Guess it's up to Canelo to retire this woman beating racist.:sadcam:
Im nervous as fukk about this one. Canelo is more skilled but he's still gonna be moving up 2 divisions to fight one of the biggest punchers in the sport. He's gonna be walking a tight rope the whole way.

My main concern is his stamina. This isn't straight up and down little g anymore. If his stamina gives out, he's gonna be in some serious danger. And when canelo gases he has a tendency to eat some jabs. And Kov got a jab that can knock dudes out. Big dudes.

It's gonna be tough, but I know canelo's gonna rise to the occasion and prove once and for all he's the best fighter on the planet. Kov isn't gonna run away or hide behind his jab all night. He's gonna come in for the kill. And I think that will only bring out the best in canelo. I expect canelo's stamina to be better at 175 where he doesn't have to cut as much weight. And I expect his punching power to be better too. He's gonna go in there and try to get kov's respect early. The speed difference is gonna be the X factor. Kov never experienced speed like canelo. He's probably gonna be a little shell shocked at first. If canelo is able to land some clean shots early I expect kov to be reluctant to sit down on anything.

Either way, this shyt gonna be intense :wow:

But #CaneloCartel will prevail. Like always :CaneloRejoice:

People are overrating canelo body punching on Kovalev, he’s not gonna fold just like that.

Kovalev has been in there with big punchers. Pascal, ward, Hopkins, Alvarez, Boone, and now Yarde. I don’t think canelo punches will be able to keep Kovalev off him.

That jab is going to bother him too much for canelo to stay on the outside, best bet is him going inside and staying there.

All that poor mans Mayweather pad work hes been doing with that fraudulent trainer showed tonight.. everybody loves the shoulder roll but only a master boxer can use it effectively :Mayweather:

Why is a flat footed boxer using the shoulder roll? :Drinking:

I don't give any fighter props for having 'heart' .. you don't win any points for having heart the only thing you're winning is a ticket to the emergency room :MoneyMay:

Tunde is a jokeman and Yarde needs to lose the muscles and improve his stamina and conditioning. Gassing in the 8th against a 36 (?) year old... aint no way hes gonna hang with the monsters in his division if changes aren't made

Disappointed but not surprised, after all the peoples champion told us how the fight would go

Kovalev loves to fight on the outside and find his range nowadays. He doesn't load up on his shots as much as he used to, and he's becoming an efficient boxer who seek to accumulate punishment on his opponents rather than going for early KO's.

He doesn't have the flashiest feet, but Kovalev's solid movement coupled with his jab has been what's kept his career alive.

Canelo is going to have to be the aggressor. He's trying to slip kovalevs punches and attack inside, where Kovalev is the most vulnerable.

No one mounted a sustained body attack on Kovalev until Ward, and we've seen how susceptible Kov is to a body attack, getting KO'd by Ward and almost losing his title to Yarde.

Kovalev does the same thing every time he tires: he loses his legs, power gets sapped, and he focuses so much on protecting his body that he leaves his chin exposed, and he has shown to be fairly chinny. The first Alvarez fight was actually really close, with many people seeing Kovalev as being up on the scorecards, but then he tired out and was KO'd easily by Alvarez.

Canelo might not be a gigantic puncher at 175, but neither was Ward, and it's not like Canelo is suddenly going to be feather fisted at 175. I don't think Kovalev is eating Canelos body work, he's not looking to walk through that.

It's going to really come down to stamina. Can Kovalev tire Canelo by pumping his jab, or can Canelo effectively get inside of the jab and attack the body.

Canelo is confident going against taller fighters after getting in the ring with Jacobs. As it turns out, both Kovalev and Jacobs have similar dimensions, at least in respect to their height and reach.
