First thought is that the HOA is likely insane given the area.

It’s $2,206 a month.
If it includes most or all utilities then that's standard. I live in NYC so this is par for the course. The cheaper your HOA, the more in the boonies you live (away from city living); some people want that. I abhor suburban life. Did it for almost a decade. I prefer the fast-pace life
Out of my pay grade but I can afford this

That is super nice. A lot of space. Too bad she cannot rent to own.

if you can afford that:francis:

you can easily afford the $2K a month:comeon:

as well as afford to give me a $15K so I can buy something special for my friends @Pseudonym @Coco Loco @Milk N Cookies @bourgeoisie tall freak @Ashley Banks

some nice XMas gifts
Of course, but its also in the Gold Coast. The entire thing requires being rich, basically, and the older buildings always have ridiculous HOAs. There are some condos for 1/3 the price in Chicago who have 2k HOAs along the North Side, specially around Lincoln Park/Lakeview areas. In principle I cringe at large HOAs.

Wow. This is what $698,000 gets you on 139th St. in Harlem. I stayed in an identical apartment downstairs for a month. You can literally see the entire apartment standing in one spot.

From the link.

$7,647 per month

Principal and interest - $3,725
Property taxes - $1,460
HOA dues - $2,206
Homeowners insurance - $256

Even after you pay off the mortgage, the HOAs are still gonna be due, and they're gonna go up.

I'd never buy into Condo or Co-Op.

Beautiful condo
Hate the kitchen floors
2200 month maintenance is crazy though:hubie:
Yeah it seems like once a building is around the 40 year mark, that’s when the HOA gets crazy. also the bigger and older… the more the HOA 😭

Damn thats what Jen Selter from Instagram pays every month in her NY Condo...a place she pratically never leaves.
