Not sure if the commentary confirmed on TV or not, but the American Airlines Center appeared to be sold out and 100% full. The Sign Guy was in attendance as was a gentleman in the front row with long hair and a white shirt who I see at every WWE event on TV.
After the Cruiserweight pre-show, about a dozen ring crew members immediately removed the purple tape that surrounds the ring ropes. I was astonished at how quick they went to work on the ropes! We don’t really notice it when watching TV, but a lot of work goes into such a simple ring decor change.
The crowd absolutely loved Enzo Amore and his pre-match promo. Big heat on Cass throughout the match and we peppered him with “Cass-hole” chants. The crowd cheered virtually every Enzo hope spot.
Sheamus and Cesaro were definitely doing the Gotenks fusion from Dragonball Z a couple of times during their entrance. Not sure if it was shown on TV, but during the tag team iron match, a security guard that had his back towards the barricade went flying to the floor when Sheamus slammed one of the Hardys into the barricade. I don’t think the security guard was expecting that spot. BIG “ref, you suck!” chants when the ref counted to 3 and it appeared that the Hardy Boyz had tied up the match 3-3, but the pinfall didn’t count. Not sure how Matt got his head cut open, but a doctor immediately went to check up on him after the match ended as ring crew (again hard at work) removed the blood stained top layer of the ring canvas. Best match of the night! Crowd was quiet at first but was definitely into it once the Hardy Boyz started making their comeback.
I love Dean Ambrose and the Miz, but they definitely need fresh opponents as a lot of the crowd was using their particular match as either a bathroom or snack break.
Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman are really big in real life! No wonder Vince McMahon loves these two men so much. A lot of boos directed at Roman Reigns. I’d say it was probably 70% boos/30% cheers directed towards Roman. Regardless, every person in the arena was chanting something throughout the match so the people were definitely into it. A group of gentlemen attempted to start a “He’s not finished” chant in reference to Braun’s “I’m not finished with you yet” line, but I don’t think it ever caught on. After Braun gets thrown through the LED board, the board stays broken throughout the rest of the night. HUGE boos when Roman Reigns attempts vehicular homicide on Braun. Not sure how commentary sells it, but the crowd hated Roman for that and were chanting for Braun.
After the PPV ended and Brock was already in the back, Samoa Joe stood in the middle of the ring as the crowd cheered and applauded him. If he didn’t have people’s respect before, he definitely has it now.
If it went 10min then people would bytch about it not going 15min.When Lesnar debuted in 2002 on Raw, he won by doing that Triple Powerbomb Knock out stuff. This was before he ever used the F5...so it was a callback to that but the way it was built, people pay money to see at least 10 minutes of a match..lol.
Man GTFOH, That was her best promo ever and it felt real which is the point. Cringey was everything about Cass last night or Codean Ambrose trying to cut a promo past 5mins.Sasha came off as a real a$$hole on Talking Raw. Face, heel, worked, shoot, the "You weren't a fan growing up so you don't count/respect DIS BIZNESS" shyt is the cringiest, most self-serving and self-aggrandizing martyrdom promo one can cut. It makes EVERYONE who says that shyt look like a whiny bytch. Especially when they're in their early 20s and didn't even start being aware of wrestling themselves until the Attitude Era.

Real sports are full of top tier athletes who didn't like the sport their in as a kid, nor do they enjoy playing it as a pro, but they're really good at it and it makes them money. No one ever shyts on those talents. shyt, WRESTLING ITSELF was almost exclusively non-fans until the 90s and on. It was full of real athletes or bouncers who flunked out of whatever other career and took up wrestling as a second option, or who did a sport that didn't really have a pro level to get paid and went into wrestling, or were just big dudes and someone said "hey, you ever try wrestling?".
Some of the biggest stars of the past 40 years weren't fans growing up. Nash, Angle, Hall, Goldberg, Nikita, Magnum, Warrior, Sting, Bruno, Hansen, Jack Brisco, Harley, etc etc etc and on and on and on. After all that hand wringing over the Alexa/Bayley angle where the heel made fun of the face for being a loser wrestling fan, the follow up feud has the face prove the heel right in a promo meant to be endearing to the fans. Loool.
As for the real show: That cut on Matt's eye was disgusting. I don't even understand how he did it, but fukk. Stroman/Roman putting on another classic with the as hell (yet pretty perfect, tbh) ending. Brock/Joe being a real match built on the story of "Joe dominated Brock, and Brock barely survived" while the crowd was at least 70% on Joe's side despite Joe being the clear heel was great even if the match itself certainly couldn't live up to the decade of hype. Joe's stock is at an all time high right now and I have no doubt he'll stay in the main event for a while. I got to thinking that the original plan was for that to be Balor's spot, and Balor wasn't even on nor mentioned at all on the show.
Lmao Brock has literally never had an endurance problem in his life. Brock's matches are short because it makes no sense for a guy built up like Brock to be having the same 20+ minute back and forth matches like everyone else. Just like it didn't make sense for Goldberg to have long matches. Or Andre.
Get real..Sasha is supposed to be mean and selfish..thats the whole point of her character. Thats why shes still getting cheered off the pages and Bayley is getting laughed at.
She cries at some points for title wins but she's ultra arrogant with her style and how she carries herself...That's why I said it doesn't matter if it's heel or face, shoot or work. JBL has said shyt like that many times as a heel and came off the same type of shythead that Sasha came off as as a face. Sasha long, long ago dropped the mean and selfish shyt. She's been a full on face who cries when her friend gets pops for over a year now.
vs CM Punk, vs Undertaker, vs HHH, vs Cena.
