Gators
lol i came in here to post this. @patscorpio didn't i JUST ask where the hell is Abel at the other day
I remember Joe being the only person to take Garcia. We were talking one day and I literally told him "Bruh... Do you know what the fukk is about to happen?"
RIP to my guy. Miss you homie.
I wanna say it's been a year today Joe passed away too
Miss my homie
But with that being said, I remember him gassing Mikey hard when the fight was made with Spence and NOBODY was able to get through to the bruh that he was out of his mind with that
We'll seeSomeone would have to eat some serious counters to consistently get inside & maul him. That's very dangerous but you can't forget Bud can fight on the inside
Were you apart of the BATB hive back in the day?I know it's closing in on the day. @patscorpio might know a bit more than us. I legit when Tim Bradley wash announced to the HOF. I don't think there was a bigger Tim Bradley fan.
But yeah... I remember sitting on the phone with him one night and he's going thru all these reasons why Garcia would win. shyt was too funny.
Were you apart of the BATB hive back in the day?
i just have never been a big believer in errol spence. when i picked spence to beat kell brook, that was a pick that was based on spence being a fighter that is going to break you down over many rounds, but brook also being a fighter that is going to fade late down the stretch. it just made sense. but i never liked the way he was getting tagged. i felt like he was marching into shots. to the extent that, if he had fought a fighter that would not fade late down the stretch, like brook will, that fight probably would have went to points and i dont know if gets the nod in that guy's backyard. he had to come from behind to win that fight. what would he have had to do if brook was just a little more durable? that always put a doubt in my mind. i understand that sounds like i'm hating. i just haven't been all the way sold on errol spence like others have. to the extent that its going to take a win over a fighter at a level of terence crawford to finally make me see what others have been seeing.Spence doesn't really fall into that category as being seen as 'unbeatable'. If anything that is Crawford in this situation.
That was his Ryan Garcia fightwhy did errol spence box mikey garcia?
That was 5 years ago..should anyone be sold on Crawford when he git tagged by right hands by a one legged guy for 12 rounds or an unknown undefeated European who dropped him when he came in too headstrong and not thinking...i just have never been a big believer in errol spence. when i picked spence to beat kell brook, that was a pick that was based on spence being a fighter that is going to break you down over many rounds, but brook also being a fighter that is going to fade late down the stretch. it just made sense. but i never liked the way he was getting tagged. i felt like he was marching into shots. to the extent that, if he had fought a fighter that would not fade late down the stretch, like brook will, that fight probably would have went to points and i dont know if gets the nod in that guy's backyard. he had to come from behind to win that fight. what would he have had to do if brook was just a little more durable? that always put a doubt in my mind. i understand that sounds like i'm hating. i just haven't been all the way sold on errol spence like others have. to the extent that its going to take a win over a fighter at a level of terence crawford to finally make me see what others have been seeing.
For me, Spence is like Kawhi Leonard. He’s not someone that’s going to hit you with five hesi dribbles, an in and out, then pull up for a step back three. He knows his spots. He’s going to get to his spots, but he also knows what you’re going to do to try to prevent him from getting to his spot. Moreover, when he gets there, he’s going to make you pay. Before you know it, he has 35 and 10 and it looked simple and efficient—so people greatly underestimate his technical ability.
I saw an interview with Danny Garcia regarding Spence and he said it seems simple watching on TV or tape, but it’s a whole ‘nother animal being in the ring with him. I’ve seen people refer to Mikey as a master boxer and dude looked like an amateur against Spence. Mans was literally celebrating the bell each round . He was just trying to survive after like round two.
You used Kawhi but Errol actually compared himself to Tim Duncan for similar reasons, and to why no matter how much he technically beats the dog shyt outta people some folks just can’t see him as elite. Starts at 6:00 minutes.
He could have fought him differently but Spence sole purpose was to go in there and hurt Brook, and he did lol. He did not like that guy/wasn't trying to finesse nothing.i just have never been a big believer in errol spence. when i picked spence to beat kell brook, that was a pick that was based on spence being a fighter that is going to break you down over many rounds, but brook also being a fighter that is going to fade late down the stretch. it just made sense. but i never liked the way he was getting tagged. i felt like he was marching into shots. to the extent that, if he had fought a fighter that would not fade late down the stretch, like brook will, that fight probably would have went to points and i dont know if gets the nod in that guy's backyard. he had to come from behind to win that fight. what would he have had to do if brook was just a little more durable? that always put a doubt in my mind. i understand that sounds like i'm hating. i just haven't been all the way sold on errol spence like others have. to the extent that its going to take a win over a fighter at a level of terence crawford to finally make me see what others have been seeing.
