Bud isn't inactive but he's far from being aggressive enough to beat a guy like Pacman. That's the same reason I didn't like the AB matchup with Pacman either. It would be the worst fight ever if Bud and AB fought each other because neither wants to be first. I don't think Porter bullied AB; he won the fight, but he looked a lot better against Thurman than he did Broner. Broner wasn't interested in that fight and it showed. Still no excuse though.
Top Rank does have quality guys but most are B side at best. On top of that, he can't even get the best guys to match up (Walters/Loma, Pac/Bud).
If Pacman and Bud does go off, I can only see Bud winning if Pacquaio is really only in it for the check. A focused Pacman outpoints or maybe even stops Bud. If Gamboa was giving him all he can handle, I don't see him beating Pacquiao at 100 percent.
I do have Bud beating Porter easily, I'm not sure about Danny. He's naturally more talented, but Danny is sharper than he's ever been and he won't walk into those shots. It would be a great fight. Agree on Thurman being a tough matchup as well.
He is active enough when he needs to be and the key to beat Pac isn't necessarily being that agressive. He always end up beating up guys who try to walk him down, the two fighters who could beat him clearly in recent years, May and JMM both beat him mainly with well timed counters taking advantage on Pac's defensive holes. JMM did it in a more brawling, fighting way, May did it on his usual safe way but neither of them approached Pac aggressively but rather waited until Pac tries to come at them.
Now, Crawford is extremely good in countering. I would rather call him a boxer-puncher than a natural counterpuncher cause I don't feel like he would be uncomfortable with pressing the action either (like Danny, JMM or Canelo do) but still maybe he is at his best when he can punish fighters who try to press him. Add the fact that by now everyone is aware of Pac's main defensive mistakes (mostly that he is wide open to overhand rights) and Crawford not only aware of them but one of those few fighters who could exploit this because he also has the speed and timing what's needed to get the job done not only in theory.
Also ever since the Gamboa fight he improved imo and I think you rely too much on those first 3-4 rounds of that Gamboa fight... Crawford is notoriously a slow starter, but it usually doesn't take him more than 3-4 rounds to get in the driver seat. He does this all the time but I barely saw him losing a round after the 4th round on any of his fights. Pac is still a great fighter but not so unpredictable or whatsoever... I think Crawford would figure him out around the same time.
Danny is way too one dimensional and flat footed to bet Crawford. Danny doesn't like moving, out boxers, he can't catch them, if they are also on a high level they couldn't do shyt with them imo and Crawford also can comfortably box outside.
