You can see looking back now how good Gamboa really is

Gave Crawford's toughest fight

as a natural super-feather or so :smugdraper:
If he didn't run out of gas he would've beat Crawford. I like Crawford but he's not busy enough to beat Manny, and I don't know if he's strong enough to beat a top 140-147 guy like Garcia, Thurmond, Spence. Him vs AB would be a terrible fight, 2 guys looking at each other all night waiting to throw a check hook or a counter.

Top Rank stable is just awful, Crawford will waste away over there if he can't land Manny.

I'm no Crawford stan but he's looked exceptional every time he's fought since Gamboa. Question was competition, well he just embarrassed Postol.

Hard to tell on bud vs 147'ers bc he hasn't fought there. Spence hasn't faced top quality opposition to be mentioned with Craw who's clearly a p4p guy right now

I see it differently

Craword has all the goods and I wouldn't say he is too inactive. He is calculative but nothing wrong with that. If you come at him you probably won't get away with it without getting countered from left to right. That's something AB can't tell about himself hence he was bullied both by Maidana and Porter.

Also TR's roster is thin but I wouldn't say it's bad, they have some really good fighters, like Crawford, Valdez, Loma, Bradley, Postol, Walters, Ramirez, Hart, Murata, and of course Pac but he is the past already and semi retired.
These are all good fighters. Tbh I don't even know why the younger, up and coming ones signed with Arum and not with Haymon who clearly seems to be the future now with a much bigger staple while Bob's staple is just getting smaller and smaller over time but fact is that with these fighters who signed with him from whatever reason makes his staple good at least in quality if not in numbers.

Crawford would beat Pac as of now, if they will fight I will bet with anyone on that here. Pac is past prime, even now is very good but Crawford is even better now.

I still have to see more from Spence to say what would happen between him and Crawford but I'm confident in Crawford would beat Thurman (hardest call maybe), Porter and Danny (with ease tbh... his style is just a nightmare for Danny and he is also a more talented, more naturally gifted fighter than Danny).

The good old "running" excuse :mjlol:

Seriously though... :childplease: You got dominated and knocked down two times, in the last round he was ready to take unnecessary risk just for the show and bang with you but you backed down

talk to me about running then... You got handled there like some hoe

I think he's very talented, but the problems Gamboa gave him are always going to linger in my opinion of him. I was never a fan of Postol and I knew Bud would destroy him.

I think Spence has all the tools Bud has, but is a lot stronger and naturally a little bigger. You're dead on about resume, but on pure eye test, Spence would beat him imo.

Bud isn't inactive but he's far from being aggressive enough to beat a guy like Pacman. That's the same reason I didn't like the AB matchup with Pacman either. It would be the worst fight ever if Bud and AB fought each other because neither wants to be first. I don't think Porter bullied AB; he won the fight, but he looked a lot better against Thurman than he did Broner. Broner wasn't interested in that fight and it showed. Still no excuse though.

Top Rank does have quality guys but most are B side at best. On top of that, he can't even get the best guys to match up (Walters/Loma, Pac/Bud).

If Pacman and Bud does go off, I can only see Bud winning if Pacquaio is really only in it for the check. A focused Pacman outpoints or maybe even stops Bud. If Gamboa was giving him all he can handle, I don't see him beating Pacquiao at 100 percent.

I do have Bud beating Porter easily, I'm not sure about Danny. He's naturally more talented, but Danny is sharper than he's ever been and he won't walk into those shots. It would be a great fight. Agree on Thurman being a tough matchup as well.

i always said hagler cause of the style switch from sp to ord....:lolbron:

When floyd was PBF:yeshrug:

Bud's one of the special ones brehs :sas1:

Just mentioning Bud in the same breath as these legends show indeed that he IS one of the special ones. And I agree with you brehs, however, I've seen "special ones" fall fast and hard over the years of me following boxing. I hope Bud isn't one of them, because I've seen this story quite a few times.

On Thursday at the gym I chopped it up with my old head who is 54 year old boxing trainer and the subject of the Bud/Postol fight came up. He told me that Bud is really good but they shouldn't rush him because if he gets exposed in one fight, he'll never be the same. I told him that I actually think it's the opposite, I think it'll make him better. He said bud needs more B level fights (1 or 2) and how the Gamboa fight was a huge wake up call for Bud and his camp. If Gamboa wasn't so impatient and blood thirsty, he would've walked out of there with a win (in addition to the weight factor). With that said, he said the best thing about Bud isn't his skill, it's his supreme CONFIDENCE in his skill, and his lack of respect for his opponents inside of the ring. I asked him will Bud be an all time great, he replied, "only if his handlers allow him to be, and he's under Arum, you tell me."
Breh left me like :jbhmm:
