NEWS FLASH:

YANO IS LITERALLY TIED WITH NAITO, SHIBATA, AND ELGIN FOR LEADER OF B BLOCK

Hate it had to be YOSHI, but Shibata got his flow back. They had a great match though, Loose Explosion really is making the best of his first G1
I said that earlier in the thread:heh:

Showing the two L's that broke him and made him accept a role player job in CHAOS:mjcry:
Just noticed that part of Goto's entrance tron is him getting sonned by Okada and Naito:snoop:
:whoa:

Sorry I slept, I probably saw Goto and immediately skimmed past :(

Hard kick beats hard head.

So-so match for both, but great show of respect and class by Nakajima afterwards.

As it currently stands (although we all know Naito will emerge leader after beating EVIL in the final match this evening)...

Elgin, Naito, Nakajima, Shibata, Yano, and the winner of Omega/Nagata will all have 8 points in a clusterfukk of a tie for B block.

Omega will be the only one who can catch up with Naito with a win/head-to-head tiebreak

Underwhelming night for B Block...EBIRU punished Naito but it was kind of a drab match otherwise. The "is he kicking him out?" sequence was the most interesting thing about their bout.

Beyond that, lots of overly meshed styles and relatively obvious outcomes kinda made the whole affair paint-by-numbers.

Best match was YOSHI vs Shibata, but I wouldn't label it a must watch. It was proof that Tacos has really been a great addition to the G1, though.

@TOAD99 props for the links. my regular watchwrasslin places don't carry NJPW PPVs, and my paypal got hacked by some cats in melbourne australia, so the njpw site kinda leery of me. Dailymotion is great, but yeah.

That Naito vs EVIL match wasn't what I expected. There is honor between Ingobernables after all.

Watched Ishii/Okada and Tanahashi/Marafuji

Both were stellar, 4 1/2 stars IMO. I actually might have enjoyed the Tana/Marafuji match more though. Thought it was more unique and told a better story and Marafuji unleashed what were literally the hardest chops I've ever seen in a wrestling ring

@MightyHealthy @Adam3000 I agree with both of yall. Okada/Ishii and Fuji/Cena were both good matches. Jushin on the announce table was killing it, though. Crowd was whipped into a frenzy.

I wish some of the other brehs would watch this stuff. Sure, the matches are an hour long sometimes, but you really don't notice it. The crowd ain't chanting random bullshyt, There's really no story to follow so you can just jump in anywhere, you blatantly know who's face and who's heel, but the crowd doesn't care and neither do the wrestlers. The face/heel is all in their character and dress, the crowd is gonna cheer whomever they want. The wrestlers really just want to put on a hell of a show.

What is there NOT to like if you're complaining about other federation's stale product?
That sitdown piledriver was nasty:wow:

I REALLY started to pause the vid and @ you to see if we could get a new addition to the :dead::deadmanny::deadrose: stable of smileys. It looked like he damn near killed dude, the way he leg scissored his head and crossed his ankles. It looked like there was NO protection on the landing. :whoa::damn::scusthov::lupe:

I can understand why.

There's been SO much unexpected greatness this year. It's like you REALLY don't know who's going to win whatever match, but it's gonna be great.

700 people is not "up big" breh  I wouldn't call this year more surprising than others tbh, there's always parity in these kind of tournaments. They are drawing a little bit more because the brand is a little stronger or the economy isn't as shytty as last year. Now, if they draw big for the 3 Sumo Hall shows, THAT'S a reason to celebrate and draw conclusions about New Japan and the G-1.
