I agree on your strategy. It was a poor plan by James to have Charlo just pump the jab.

great overall fight, it was close but i think castano won. charlo was given sound advice from derrick james all night and just didn't listen. fighting from the ropes, head hunting and just loading up for a shot is not the business. its weird he's kinda regressing and falling in love the newfound punching power and technique.
castano was busier and hurting jermell more than he let on, jermell kept smiling and egging him after shots which is the big sign you gained respect. that 9-3 card was crazy. the way charlo sounded afterwards he don't wanna run that back. jermell could have jabbed all night controlled the fight and then when he did hurt him, he punched himself out by headhunting in those moments. some more body work and jermell coulda got a kd or 2. he does still have a good resume at 154 and doesn't wanna move up to affect his brother status but jermall probably will have to eventually go to 168 cause he not getting a good fight at 160 unless he fight andrade and don't seem anxious for that.
side note- charlo and castano wives can definitely get the pipe lol

No issue w the draw or close either way. Constano put a lot of pressure on him and not just pressure w punches. It seemed like Charlo was a millisecond late on all his shots because he was thinking too much while Constano was punching. Harrison already showed w a good workrate you can make him second guess his shots in there. Constano tossed in constant foot pressure, feint pressure and movement along w the workrate and it was looking bad at times there for Charlo.

You don't be guys like Castano by trying to bomb them out. You gotta control them first. Mell only had control when he was hurting Brian or pushing him back. Other than that he got pressured and outworked and rocked on several occasions.
If Ryan Garica and Billy Dib were to fuse together, you'll get Rolly and his clumsy, hard swinging, trash footwork having ass.

Disappointed in Charlo. 2nd star making opportunity that coulda propelled to another tier, but came up short like the first Harrison fight 
This was pissing me off the whole fight.
He basically gave up rounds doing this dumb shyt. Not everyone can fight off the ropes like they're Floyd Mayweather.
