It's not fair to the fans who pay money OR the organization.
This is not about player empowerment: The Nets were projected to win the championship, and because Kyrie did not want to get vaccinated, that DIRECTLY impacted those odds, and caused a lack of team cohesiveness, which by his own admission, is one of the reasons the Nets did not do well in the playoffs or win the championship.
Kyrie Irving is not the voice of the voiceless, he's not a revolutionary, he's a nikka who plays basketball, and whose views either go against the grain or are simply not based in reality.
He is surely a great basketball talent, but being a great basketball talent is only ONE of many reasons why a team should sign an individual and there are a number of other factors that he has absolutely removed himself from consideration over.
Once again: Andrew Wiggins took a vaccine and won a championship. He bought in, and the entire GSW organization bought in and won a chip.
The reason why the Nets didn't win the chip last season was because of injuries.
The reason why the Nets didn't win the chip THIS season is because of Kyrie Irving.
Kyrie Irving did not take the vaccine, leaving the Nets to fend for themselves in hopes that the mandates would be lifted, which led to the rest of the team to work harder in order to pick up the slack, which cause avoidable injuries (KD et al) as well as James Hardens exit, which at the end of the day was all for naught since the 76ers got bumped anyways, but also understandable because he didn't sign up to put a team on his back while KD was injured and Kyrie was out freebasing patchouli incense sticks.
We can admit that Kyrie Irving is one of the most skilled and talented players in his generation while admitting that his own personal flaws have led to his teams struggles AND will likely lead to future problems down the line, as his contract demands will lessen the Nets chances of acquiring worthwhile supporting talent.

Just give Kyrie his deal. KD and Kyrie are a package deal. We're risking losing KD in the midst of all this. We knew what we signed up for in 2019.
Nets need to see this experiment through. We've been through hell already no need to rush to go back. So soon.
If Kyrie pulls another stunt, trade him
and if they keep coming up short blow it up

No. The team is being held hostage by Sean Marks ego. Let Kyrie and KD leave and the team is done for the foreseeable future. If the Nets had a Knicks like fanbase, Marks would be tarred and feathered and forced to walk to the Pink Houses.

This honestly feels like when nobody thought Wade was leaving Miami until he did. Aside from Kobe in LA I can’t think of a time a superstar did something like this and the org managed to reel it back in.
