I mean it was premised on the idea that Harris would be back and they all shot well from 3 last year when they had Harden and Green. But this team isn’t designed that way. You’re right. I honestly think that this team is done and won’t get past the first round.

u kno I was thinking the same thing. The way in which calls were going and with the timing of them I couldnt stop thinking about that -1.5 pt spread I saw in the sportsbooks.
A spread that narrow is so easy for refs to control, especially in a low stakes reg season game like this..... Shyt is damn near a blank check payday.
That was a brutal loss.

Refs were awful and kept the Heat in that 1st half, but credit to them for coming out of half and realizing they could steal one. We looked checked out, expected them to roll over. Terrible loss
Vaughn is the highest paid assistant in the league and has coached 2 of the worst gameplans I've seen
. Those lineups in the 2nd half killed us, Johnson has had good games but its clear when he's not going to and he just kept calling his number. LMA and Drummond couldn't handle Bam, and he never gave Clax a chance. Couldn't believe Drummond came back in to that 4th quarter with us chasing. That needed to be the small lineup that he finally played in the last 4 minutes.
And for all that Curry and KD had open looks at 3 that would have put us ahead and IMO won the game. They didn't, then Bam pushes off (no call) and throws up an awful shot and it goes in. Story of the night.
Lets see what it looks like with KD and Kyrie, Boston will be a good test for it with their defense.

I fukking hope so these losses are getting unbearable since it’s clear we’d easily handle these teams even if we just had kyrie full-time next to KD…in my mind, simmons’ bytch ass is out for the season until I actually see him on the court

We can talk about talent and lack thereof all we want, but it ultimately comes down to coaching. Your players have to be put in a position to win and they're often not. Whether it is Nash or Vaughn, the Nets coaching tree is rotten. The last two games should have been wins. Flat out inexcusable and it showed why Jacque Vaughn will never be anything in this league beyond an assistant. You watched him get lapped by Nick Nurse and Erik Spoelstra when it came to adjustments. I'm not the biggest Claxton fan, but he has value. He can guard out to the perimeter and keep up with mobile bigs. He didn't see a minute of court time in the second half, while Vaughn kept Aldridge and Drummond to get beat often due to how slow they were. If Aldridge was making shots, you could justify him being in, but he didn't have it last night. I genuinely don't know if they make the play in at this point.

Ultimately going to come down to Tsai saying fukk City Hall and letting Kyrie play. He can sit on the bench and practice at Barclays, but cannot put on a uniform. I don't want to hear the "religion of winning" if he folds due to the Adams nonsense. The logic doesn't make sense. I can go to a bar, but I can't go to work. The optics are terrible here and he's only doing it because city is bleeding revenue and poor polling. Tourists are not going to come to a city where they're going to be hassled over a COVID shot.
