Night 4

On the prelims, KENTA is trying again to earn Tana's respect. Not yet.

Yano vs Shingo: Thought the always stern Shingo wasn't going to put himself to Yano's level, but he has been studying Yano tapes and knows that the only way to overcome all of his tricks was playing his game, and it payed off.

Juice vs Goto: It was good. Juice's new attitude and aggressiveness is opening new roads for him. EVERYTHING IS LOST FOR GOTO, REDEMPTION ARC ONLY LASTED ONE NIGHT.

Cobb vs Moxley: This wasn't good and had a finish outta nowhere. I've liked every other Mox singles match in NJ, but this wasn't it.

Ishii vs White: Match of the night. Ishii refuses to have a bad one, even if it is with White and his weak as fukk offense. Switchblade tried to target the neck but all that did was pissing off the Pitbull. This is Gedo booking so we know Ishii's going nowhere, but I'll enjoy the ride.

Naito vs Taichi: What a monstrous encounter of epic proportions. This was on another level. Naito was Taichi's first singles opponent when he stepped up to heavyweight, and this was our Lord's time for revenge. That dastardly Ingobernable made Miho Abe cry, so he deserved everything he got. Taichi didn't need any help, all those ref bumps were accidents, and he sending the young lions to the back was a very funny joke. He also channeled his mentors' spirits, first by applying Kawada's Ganso Bomb, and then using Iizuka's Iron Finger From Hell, giving him his first two points towards Tokyo Dome glory. All hail the Black Mephisto.
Keep up with the reviews. Saves me time on which matches to check out. :salute:

Still on Night two.

Shingo and Juice match was great. Like this hard-hitting Juice. He and Shingo were selling the hell each other strikes. :banderas:

Low Key, Mox/Taichi was a four-star match just for the fukkery :mjpls:

The c*nt Naito got what he deserves for not taking off his shirt against the producer

But :mjlol: @ Naito taking Kenny spot as Yano comedy dance partner.

Cant wait for Ishii vs Shingo. :wow:

Juice vs Shingo: Second best match of the night. Juice is the opposite of Samson. Lost the hair, became better. Vicious, vicious lariats. Shingo brought it, but can he survive in the land of the heavyweights?

Moxley vs Taichi: Short brawl, nothing special. Don't despair, Taichi fans, he still has a long way to go. CZW got a shoutout on the Japanese commentary. Miho Abe is delicious.

Naito vs Yano: Short comedy match, the usual Yano stuff. Naito tried to beat him at his own game but few can outsmart the Producer's antics.

Ishii vs Cobb: What a great hoss war. My favorite match of the evening. Ishii is my 2019 MVP so far and Cobb is very impressive. Impact is becoming the land of the short, muscular guys so they may try to replicate this with Elgin and Rhyno :skip:

Goto vs White: God fukking damn, Jay White is a bore. If I had to breathe with the switchblade I'd rather suffocate. Luckily for him Goto is very good and kept the match OK, surviving the actions of that dastardly traitor Gedo.

Given the result and the overwhelming support he's getting from the crowd, I think he's next in line... :blessed:

...for another NEVER Openweight title reign
am I the only Jay White fan here?

KENTA vs Tanahashi :blessed: Loved all the various intersecting story points and similarities, from both holding up their companies on their shoulders in the darkest times, to now being old and busted but still with something to prove to themselves and the fans, to KENTA's leaving when his company needed him most and leaving puro in the dust and now the lockeroom is :martin:at him coming back and getting into the G1 just like Shibata when he returned, and that mixed with the relationship Shibata has with both guys. It's the kind of match I don't think can exist in American wrestling and is the type of thing that drew me to puro. Would have loved for there to be a match between these two 10 years ago, but we got it when we got it and it was :banderas: THIS was the natural evolution of KENTA, who isn't trying to do crazy athletic sprints (which he at times tried with Ibushi and couldn't keep up), he's just a mean dikkhead who grinds his opponent into dust by kicking the shyt out of them in between disrespecting the shyt out of them. Basically he's evolved into a sawed off Tenryu :smugbiden: Ishii vs KENTA sometime is going to be all the stars. Really looking forward to KENTA/Okada, which I assume will have a similar energy and structure as this match.

ZSJ vs Okada I would say this was on par with their previous matches, which means pretty good. One of those tombstones looked :damn:as hell

Ospreay vs Sanada was pretty good. When I think of the dumb shyt Ospreay does, it's not actually spots or bad psychology, it's his facial reactions and body language. shyt is so over the top and cartoonish. Sanada finally showing some personality is something I've been waiting on for years now. His main event push starts now, which means he might get a win over Okada in 2026.

EVIL vs Ibushi Also pretty good, especially the closing stretch. I don't know if matches being centered around Ibushi's ankle will still be entertaining for 7 more matches, but it worked for this one.

The field seems pretty wide open this year, and not having one block be entirely skippable like last year, as well as all the surprising finishes 3 days in makes me really have no clue how this is going to end this year, so I'll go with lolokadawins. :steviej:
