If users keep inputting trash data into the system, you're going to die trying to write exceptions AND keep up with exceptions. This is why companies rarely have documentation because they rarely take time to develop a standard process.
this is my current issue im trying to get ahead off...thankfully not with any trash data because we have a thorough data cleaning process with checks and balances but the documentation which if i got a good 3 months to do with minimal interruption i can really update it but i keep gettting things that pop up for me to do :francis:

It's a lot of non technical people in the tech industry, trying to drive conversation about the overall direction of it. "Tech about to bottom out, jump shyt, lay offs are happening..."

LOL first off, you're recruiter...a "DE&I" one at that, of course if hiring is slowed, you'll be the first out the door. You ain't got shyt to recruit. They didn't lay off the software developer you found for them though.

Even with remote work, "oh it's about to end" or whatever else. There are companies who have shifted their IT operations to India and will Zoom all their accents into the daily meeting and do the same regularly with other positions.

it's my biggest pet peeve when people don't put any information in an invite and we've never met before, and you have nothing on your slack profile...can you introduce yourself? your role? maybe a short sentence about why you're putting time on my calendar? i'm just supposed to show up and not know who i'm talking to?

I want to work somewhere with a more mature data process. Listening to this team meeting they are all over the place with it.

Used to do analytics consulting. This is unfortunately the norm everywhere just about
Truth! Some places are more mature than others though...at least a toddler learning to walk, these folks are fetus status for sure.

I think it's time to pursue project management. I took the courses just a matter of actually preparing for the test. I've also been seeing a bunch of "Analytic project manager" roles pop-up, so it may be a sign to go for it.

I want to communicate delays due to shytty data, not be the one delayed because I'm working with shytty data.

Lol, I got my gripes with non-tech folk trying to drive the Convo and trying to sell themselves as experts on social media.

As one of those folks, I stay in my lane. I know what's going on, but it ain't my place to say in public spaces.

You must hate wading through TLR when somebody starts a tech adjacent thread then :mjlol:

The threads about the company I work for are entertaining, at the very least.

The salary discussion threads are just jokes to me because most folks are applying anecdotal evidence to every situation. I'm actually approving pay offers and advising recruiters on what they can and can't offer, as part of my day to day job. I have the actual pay data from tech companies (some caveats in there), but TLR folks be talking wild.

I just read and try not to say too much

Don't get me wrong, I have no beef at "non tech" folks with an opinion based on their perspective, but them pretending to be the overall authority, is annoying. I do feel we need each other's perspective though. Like I know you can provide great insight into skills that are hot, market salaries/rates for said skills/positions or even if a particular skillset is on the decline.

That's different than, oh because my tech company froze hiring and I was laid off from my non tech position that somehow equates to the tech sector is going down :heh:

Executive VP over at a bank emailed me offering me a position, but it’s not remote. I can’t entertain it :camby:

They doubled back and are asking would I consider a hybrid schedule where I would come in 2-3 times a week. If they want me to give up my plush full remote position, I'm going to have to tax them on the base annual salary. No less than $100k base plus incentives:francis:

It was ony matter of time before these pieces of shyt who just want to micromanage, breath down everyone's necks and control their staff got their little revenge by slashing pay. People are struggling to survive with the cost of living which is literally through the roof right now but these megalomaniac dinosaurs and control freaks still would rather pay hundreds of thousands on offices and overheads that aren't really needed just to get people behind desks. FOH.

Smh. All that money they could save by eliminating office space but they want to take it from workers instead :snoop:

Plus we got train strikes going on right now, people aint trying to wake up an hour earlier than usual to get a bus to get to work on time when they can just easily do the same work from home without the expense, tiredness and stress.
