The 90k role fell through?

Yeah. They were saying I didn’t qualify for an interim clearance and since it’s mostly government work, all the roles basically require it. It’s frustrating because last year this time, I was working a fed role at a army base and passed an interim clearance with no issue and nothing changed from what I know.

Just taking it as a sign, it was a cut from my last salary and I didn’t even have a masters at that time. I know I can find something better and command more.

That’s foul of them to do that. They should’ve brought that up in the beginning. I hate the clearance process, but fed jobs dominate this state and can be hard to dismiss.

Yeah, I’m not mad, more just frustrated that I couldn’t check this off my box. Like I have to take this employment finding process into the new year. It’s not their fault I’m not “clear-able”, but at the same time no one can tell me why, so I can just assume.

I swear there has to be a better way for the federal government to handle clearances. To be honest, I wouldn’t mind so much if not for the fact that so many of the posted jobs in this state require it. I wish there was a way to filter out the clearance jobs when searching.

After a 10-11 year decent career in sales I’m officially studying for my A+ certification via Udemy Mike Myers course

Love the sales money and people skills I’ve developed from it , but I’m really burning out on volatile “what have you done got me lately” nature of sales. I am also tired of selling products that aren’t my own that I truthfully don’t care much about. Also sales is a young man’s game and I’m not getting any younger. Figure if I’m going to make a move , it’s got to be now otherwise I’ll be stuck in sales forever

I have a degree in BIS so hopefully getting back in the swing of things isn’t too horrible. Wish me luck fellas.

These stupid foreign schedulers think they can just ring you up about any old bullshyt just because your name is on the list.

Dumb asses woke me up at 4am because there is a 'severity 1' job in another part of the country when there's engineers who live around there and have the skillset for the task. Had to tell these fools by the time they get access arranged for the data hall and get the parts delivered to the site, it will be normal hours anyway so they should assign for one of the other engineers first thing in the a.m. when they start their day so don't wake me up on shyt like this again.

Love the sales money and people skills I’ve developed from it , but I’m really burning out on volatile “what have you done got me lately” nature of sales. I am also tired of selling products that aren’t my own that I truthfully don’t care much about. Also sales is a young man’s game and I’m not getting any younger. Figure if I’m going to make a move , it’s got to be now otherwise I’ll be stuck in sales forever

Look into certifications for salesforce or whatever sales platform you’ve been using. Salesforce is just a popular one. You could try and swing a salesforce analyst position, which can get you close to developer. The end user and sales knowledge, combined with your degree can be worded on your resume in a way your role seemed more technical giving you a Segway in without starting from the ground up, like with an A+.

Don’t abandon all that experience altogether, just get on a different end of it.

Pre-sales is another good option. Does not require as much technical knowledge, but it gets you in the tech field.
