anyone here got experience working as a technical consultant? I have had 2 out 4 interviews i think for this small consulting american company but it's a salesforce shop the interview i had today was with the technical manager which i think i killed however so far the interviews have been easy almost abit too easy? I read on reddit about people talking about avoiding staying too much in salesforce positions as they pidgeonhole you

Do you mean Salesforce as in the company out of San Fran? If so, yea, Saleforce positions will pretty much be all within Salesforce. There's good pay for the roles for what it's worth though

yes salesforce, but the company is not salesforce that im acutually interviewing for it's it's

. The problem i've read is that since salesforce uses it's own programming language which is not respected in the tech/programming industry this might hurt me in the future from what i've read on reddit.

I do have a final interview for a company next week which im hoping to land but i want to use this consulting company as a backup plan

And just like that all that "content" shyt went out the window. I got another request to interview for a Sr. Data Engineer job. Them hoes cancelled the day of, the last time and I was done with them LOL. It would be benefits, pension and the whole nine, but I'm not sure if I want to be an "employee" again. I'll try not to stress too much because I'll get overwhelmed. I don't like the work I do now, but I can't beat the work environment. Ugh.

He still wouldn’t tell me what he spent the money on. He got out the truck yesterday, and the logistics company put me in contact with a new driver.

I ended up making a contract, separate from the logistics company, that spells out everything the position entails.

Ended up calling the magistrate court. They said I can pay $99, take it to court and have them garnish his wages or put a lien on his property. I don’t wanna have to do all that, I’ll probably keep these next three checks coming to recoup the money he spent. He gotta hold that L.

That’s part of the game, I’d rather deal with this at 25, put the systems in place, then by 35 be more seasoned to where we don’t even get in this situation again.

note to self...be more diligent on what i put on my expense reports. i got the e-mail that my expense report for my DC trip was approved so im like cool let me take a look at it one more time

i go through my uber receipts and completely forgot its tied to my yahoo email address via paypal. my yahoo email address i created when i was 16-17 lol. its not an email address that should have been shared and its shown right on the uber receipts. i know the finance office had a good laugh over it

So I’m drafting the groundwork to register my business, an umbrella consulting firm for personal, business and non-profit consulting. I have a handful of clients but I’m wondering if it’s worth registering with NJ, the thing is I can gather a lot of professionals and charge middle-top dollar for my services but it’s still small (just me and contract $) that I can do stuff under the table. I just bought my domain name and will be building out a website again, I jettisoned my last one.

I may return to corporate America but I don’t want to, lord knows I’ll miss the money but my peace of mind, mental health and being able to set my own schedule and rates are a big draw for now. I just want to be in a position in two years where I can hire someone.

Job that wanted me to come back for a 2nd interview for a higher paying position made me an offer...but for the (initial) lower paying position. Talmbout they want me to learn their system first. So, I let it stew for awhile then sent them a decline email last week since I had an interview (today) for the job I really want (App Analyst). I told the former nikkas that I had another offer though and they all of a sudden wanted to offer me a job for the 2nd position . It's a dirty ass, politic filled game out here, brehs. nikkas just wanted to see if I would take the lower position 1st. I'm a decline em no matter what but lawd I hope I get the gig I interviewed for today, lol.

Always know your worth. I won't entertain offers for less than what I am asking even if they sound like a good opportunity. I guarantee they aren't pulling that nonsense on everyone. So why should you or anyone else accept it.

does anyone still have insurance with their credit card? was thinking about canceling mine...heard its near impossible to file a successful claim when you lose your job or become ill, apparently credit card coverage hates to pay out. id rather spend the $75 a month on food

I agree with you 100%. Only thing stopping me if the fact he has no incentive to repay us. If we get him out the truck tomorrow, now we’re assed out, stopping the cash flow. Even if I had a new guy vetted and ready today, it’ll take at least 10-13 days to get him to orientation and on the road. Then that first weeks check will be short bc he started 2 days later in the week, getting used to the dispatchers, etc

All the while we have the insurance and truck note coming

I told the bros I know we’re all upset but we may have to deal with him at least for 4 more weeks. To at least have 1k a week coming in, to pay bills, set up a reserve, hold us while we find a new driver etc.

It’s literallystatus till we can come up with a solid move to get back on track. He just showed his hand and we gotta act accordingly
