cant see myself watching this if this is what it's going to be and I was someone who really liked Double or Nothing. This one was too choreographed looking

so what leagues do you watch??

cuz this is the choreographed era. that's the style that's poppin the most in the wrestling world.

WCW was horrible in 1991. Those Nitros from 95-mid 96 werent that great

:whoa:

I re-watched Moxley/Janela last night, and man they rushed through spots like crazy. It was a big problem I had with that match actually. Nothing ever had time to sizzle or sink in, they just rushed from hardcore spot to hardcore spot. At one point, Moxley got like slammed on the barbwire chair and recoiled in pain with this great sell where his eyes bulged out of his head, but it was for half a second because Joey immediately knocked him down and went for the cover. And like, I get in the context of the match that you wanna put him away quick, but when the whole match was like that, it was like :beli: They also gotta work on their camera positioning, just like DON there were small spots the cameras didn’t pick up or they’d make a weird cutaway to something else. Janela flipped Moxley off a few times in defiance but the camera didn’t pick it up, or would linger on Moxley without really giving you the full picture.

Why are so many people online grading this show like it's a PPV? It was a free show in the US and heavily discounted internationally.

It was more like a Clash of the Champions or one of those 3 hour RAW specials that used to run when WWE first came back to USA.

Did u not see the battle royal at the ppv before this??

Seriously

I still feel like AEW need time, they aren't going to be able to be at their best so early. I feel they also need constructive feedback rather than just praise, they need to hear genuine responses from the fans positive or negative.

They have positive and negative elements thus far. Also the expectations can't be too high, the best things the fans can do is let their voice be heard and then they can decide from there, but in this era it's near impossible to please everyone.

There's a lot of good they've done, I like that fact they've taken chances, chair head shots should never be gratuitous in this age but the fact they did it and something different I like, set rules can be boring and feel phoney, for a big match they can be broken.

Darby I thought came out of this well, his character has now interested me when previously I didn't know who he was, the commentary team sold his backstory well and in the ring he felt believable that he was a troubled guy who didn't give a fukk. I thought Cody vs Darby was the best match, it was the 1 I came away from the show remembering the most because of the story. Cody has had the best match to me on both shows now.

Need to rewatch the Moxley match as had some ish to do so got a bit distracted but liked what I saw. Found both impressive.

Omega is a bag of potential but can be inconsistent, when he steps it up he's amazing, I like him when he's fast paced and wrestles. There's times where I feel like he's gone through the motions or maybe he had an issue, but when he ramps it up he's a beast. I also feel like what will benefit him is proper storylines, in and out the matches, his match with Jericho , the first 1 I enjoyed, it was paced well, the Omega vs Okada match I saw didn't resonate with me, there was so many flaws in the 1 I saw that were irritating to me but Omega to me has true moments of brilliance, I want him to put it all together. Maybe he will when he's given real storylines, let's hope so. He also has flaws I'd like him to address, but will he when he has so many stans? I don't know.

The Young Bucks also frustrate me, fantastic athletes, they could be amazing, but they are overkilling shyt. Their matches aren't feeling real to me cause it's a point where it's silly, devastating move, kick out, devastating move kick out, it makes the moves seem less impactful and devastating. These fundamentals being ignored take me out of the match. I don't feel like you can do moves that look like they kill someone and have the opponent kicking out all the time. I would like to see some more storytelling in their matches, at least keep it short and sweet. It's too much....

MJF is a talent, Adam Page looks talented from what I've seen too. I wanna see Pac back. MJF is important to the company, a true heel. I want to see more stories and storylines, I love a great match but the best wrestling to me is when there's a reason, a story and a reason and then the match lives up to it.

Owen vs Bret at Mania was 1 of the great matches to me, was a lot of psychology in the match. Shawn vs Taker 2, high stakes and dramatic.

So to me AEW are doing a lot good and some bad, it's all in how they progress from here.

Just watched the preshow in its entirety. Not sure why people on here didn't like it.

3-way was very good.

Allie/Leva was decent. The Librarians are hilarious to me. When Allie fell outside and Avalon said "SHHHH!!!! Go read a book!" to her :dead: I feel like the whole gimmick was done on a dare or as a parody of all of WWE's shytty gimmicks.

Jebailey/Nakazawa was a fun comedy hardcore match. Nakazawa is funny.

My opinion of the entire show is higher now.
