Nah that's a good move. You want your first show to be a bang, and establish the stars who are gonna anchor the show for the foreseeable future right off the bat.

I'm interested to see how different the show is booked, Danielson and Punk have good minds, and if they are gonna be heavily involved in creative direction it has a chance to be more than what Kenny and the Bucks preach on Dynamite. TK a pushover they should be able to force a different vibe for Collision.
Nah, You gotta save some shyt. We saw TNA do that same thing and debut EVERYBODY on that Jan 4th episode when it should have been spread out.

Hogan
Bischoff
Flair
RVD
Jeff Hardy
Scott Hall return
Xpac return
Etc.

Yeah but really the only big returns are Punk and Joe. I don't really rate Andrade too high. And people supposedly aren't excited about Brawl Out Brooks. Otherwise you have to have some mid-carder get push until Joe come to be the foil. I like letting all the "big stars" of the show cook from the beginning and let them carry the show and they can elevate some of the mid talent that aren't gonna draw by themselves in the beginning. Fair point though.

With the ticket sales for Collision in Canada, they can't really afford to take a wait and see approach. And let's be honest, none of the people returning on Collision are draws other than CM Punk.

Miro might be for TSC but he wasn't pushing tickets

Andrade is a flunkie, a talented flunkie but a flunkie, who is even less of a draw than Miro. The IWC hasn't even been clamoring for him to come back.

I love Samoa Joe but the people who are going to be watching AEW and buying tickets because of Samoa Joe are already the types that are watching AEW and buying tickets.

Agreed, this show is already on thin ice according to all the fans, so put your best food forward from the jump, and try to keep that momentum rolling and earn the traction.

there feels like less buzz going into this than i would've expected given the Punk return

Doing a brand split and a draft would've made things feel a little more interesting but I'm guessing they want to see whether they'll have to use all their A list players willing to work Saturdays if the ratings/tickets don't pick up
