yeah this was the fight that made me turn the corner on lil bhop...prior to that i thought lil bhop kinda played with his food too much and i wasn't a fan of it. the fact he took out a noted puncher at his own game and showed a mean killer instinct was impressive as fukk to me. he has less career KO's than shakur too.
I think his power and strength is coming together cuz he had a 1 punch KO a couple fights prior to that. I have no problem if a guy doesn't have natural power to KO guys, but if you don't you at least need to make it entertaining and put your punches together, playing it completely safe + no power is not a good combination from a viewing perspective.

The “boring” fighters end up getting paid at the end of the day, with their health intact, ready to ease into a commentating role.
If you’re a slick, black fighter, you’re going to be labeled boring at some point anyway. They’ll always complain “well he didn’t get the knockout, he didn’t entertain, he didn’t do this, he didnt do that, etc.” We’ve all heard this story before.
What kills me is I would expect this type of talk on a forum like boxingscene, but here? This slick style is our shyt. We have a natural propensity to gravitate to that type of style. It’s like damn has this site turn into st0rmfr0nt?

You guys gotta be very careful with that type of argument because not every black fighter is slick. Its never been that way...ever. We aren't a monolith in boxing
On top of that there are slick black fighters that have got props for the performances on here in their most recent fights
Custio Clayton, Chris Colbert, Boots Ennis, Ra'eese Aleem, even Stephen Fulton
On the flipside like @LauderdaleBoss said all I have to do is look in the last Andrade fight thread and that mega career thread..there are far more insulting and stupider things that were said about him than about Shakur..and he is a slick black fighter who is undefeated and a current world champion.
Yes the fight was a 120-107 across the board but there was still negatives that you can point out in Shakur's performance. You dont want to see a Rigo situation develop. Rigo 120-108 Agbeko after Kirkland nearly murdered Glen Tapia in a fire fight...it was a horrible fight..and it got Rigo demoted to HBO Latino afternoon cards.
And I like Shakur...I've seen him fight live 3 times and I've met the kid..I think hes a good fighter but I'm not gonna front like his last 2-3 fights were the biz. You cant fight slick just to be slick if you're not working to get a lesser fighter out of there. That's where I hope he turns the corner.
