Push hands generally isn't my "thing" so to speak, although I don't doubt the effectivness in training them. But I can honestly say I truly enjoyed this video.

Maybe it was the vibe, the energy, the report, or all of the above.
A good watch, with a few good pointers too

We can debate all day about fighting and the arts and different styles, but I think one thing we'll all agree on is that ol' dread in this vid would beat the daylights of most of your regular average everyday hood nikka. They wouldn't know what hit them

Might as well put these techniques in this thread too.

Ken Norton was known for using the cross-arm defense. Shoutout my bro Joe Frazier. I remember playing Knockout Kings 2002 and there's a button you would press to use the cross-arm technique and it could only be done with Smoking Joe :wow:

Here's two in-depth articles about the cross-arm guard and Archie Moore's use of it. I beg click the links cuz copy and pasting the articles is long due to the images

Rampage Jackson using the "Crazy Monkey (:mjpls:) Defense" - uses elbows to block attacks and then counters effectively

Going to reply to the rest of your post a little later im in a rush right now but I wanted to peep that video.. Sounds to me like he's making "valid" points, but the thing is that we can pick apart and make those same points about virtually any aspect of fighting , but more specifically about the various boxing guards.

In the end it's about what you're most comfortable with. He's obviously been uppercutted before from trying to use the crossarms and now he doesn't like it :manny:

that shyt make wonder why Judah never did that shyt in any of his other fights, and why he didn't even utilized that, he seem more comfortable fighting like that

I know it was just a short glimpse, but still
probably too fraid of public opinion on it.. u heard how da announcers was already tryna semi-clown him like talm bout "i have no idea what he s doing now" :stopitslime:

I ain't know that shyt was called 52. Growing up that's how me and my brothers used to fight.

That's some straight BK shyt :ehh:

Every NY nikka I knew back in the day used to do that windshield wipers type guard, slapping elbows and shyt :russ:
I think JHR and more specifically the 52's had such an influence and impact on the community that it spread without ppl even knowing what they were emulating.
Beautiful :wow:

Crazy Monkey goes against everything I beleive in a far as fight posture
But I like it
:demonic:
This is the style they teach in a lot of mma school. Not so much putting your palms on your head but blocking and deflecting by putting you palm on the back of the head and absorbing the shot on the side of the arm.

Also they'll have you put that same arm behind your head and lunge forward elbow first into the opponent face to close the distance and stun
