50 fell off but whether his haters want to admit it or not.......He still has a VERY strong core fanbase. Yeah he'll never sell 10 million records again but he still has fans that love that "aggressive content" especially since you can't get it anywhere else with your Drakes running the game.

I really can't say the same for Nelly or Luda. I feel like Nelly and Luda's fan bases were primarily people who just wanted hits. When they're making them, great, when they're not, there's nothing there. Luda is talented enough to where he'll always be around tho. He'll find a way to make a hit or just go full time with the acting......I think Nelly is FINISHED tho. He fell back for way too long and then just dropped duds. His fan base moved on.

Gotta be 50...

Nelly had a 10 year run of successful albums & singles... "Just A Dream" went 3x Platinum in 2010 & got to #3 on Billboard. Nelly was also on a Top 40 record just last year. Luda was on a #1 Billboard Single in 2010-2011 & "My Chick Bad" got to I think like #7 on Billboard. He just can't seem to find a Hit Song to save his life right now.

But 50? Yikes... blackballed to shyt... dude has just been denied release date after release date but hes on Capitol now. His newest album should still sell more then "Hall Of Fame" tho... :mjpls:

The correct answer to this, is 50 Cent.

women will always love Nelly, Luda is still no slouch on a remix

but who the fukk is checking for ANY of 50's music at this point?

this. and nelly is still making noise in other genres.

meanwhile, luda can still drop a hot verse or a hot joint here-n-there. he just ethered a couple of the so-called "leaders of the new generation"(thats bullchit anyway) not too long ago with ease.

50 fell off the worst. his ceiling was the highest and his low-point is the lowest.

Let me ask a serious question here.
How come in other genres when artists/singers/bands fall off they get looked back upon with greatness but in rap we gotta dog em for it.
Like how come no one got at Motley Crue when they fell off. How come they could continue to live off their stretch even though they stopped puttin out chart topping music. Meanwhile a dude like 50 who was at one point the biggest hit maker in rap for like a solid 2-3 years... he couldn't pack the house today if he tried. fukkin Nelly performed at the SUPER BOWL.
Nah. Instead we gotta laugh at em. Haha 50. You fell off. You ain't popular no more. I guess I can't fukk wit your music.
I wonder what would really happen if Jay stopped being popular. You think nikkas would still check for his music? You think he'd still be able to pack out arenas? When there's a proven track record of that NEVER HAPPENING BEFORE in rap?
Maybe Jay knew the key to longevity was by staying popular?
Wow now that you think about it Jay really is the GOAT. You could argue whether or not he's the greatest lyricist in rap but you can't argue whether or not he's the greatest HUSTLER in rap. So what this nikka do? He comes in the game and flips it. He stops makin it about who the best. He starts makin it about the one area no one could beat him in. Who the best hustler is.
GOD MC or DEVIL MC??? Or both???

good point. but buddy that quoted you summed it up well: hip-hop is a competitive sport. youre not supposed to stay poppin but for so long. alot of these dudes with "longevity" now are only still relevant becuause they played the game well. not neccessarily because of their music. thats why i dont hold it against any of these dudes that they fell off. i do agree that legacies shouldnt be chitted on if a rapper's current product is under par. thats some sheep chit.

as for jay, hes really not popular. he just plays the game well. he knows what rappers and trends to latch onto at the right time, and hes a master at politics. hes also a master manipulator, seeing that he fooled white folks into thinking that hes still the man. dude is a genius.

it's American culture

i'm from here... but i've lived in london.. i've visited germany and york and ireland.. i've been to mexico and the carribean.... THEY STILL LOVE OUR OLD SCHOOL

they have the new stuff, but if you notice, most hot artists here, ain't doing no world tours, cause the world could give a fukk less about you

where 50 couldn't sell out the garden, but was doing 100k people at a show out in brazil and africa. just two years ago i personally witnessed him getting paid 700k for a show out in ireland.. packed to the tilt... but he couldn't do a nationwide tour here

i go overseas and see posters for biz markie and doug e fresh.. grandmaster flash... shyt cassidy was just getting paid shows in dubai.. when's the last time you seen a cassidy flyer out here?

they just respect legends in other cultures and respect hits and good music.. where in america we tend to be microwave.. soon as something else heats up, we throw that last food in the trash and pretend we never nuked it

and it ain't just rap... it's fashion, cars, haircuts... whatever... things in black america don't last very long before getting "played out"

None.of these artists actually "fell off",,its just that the business model changed

nelly pop hits are no longer edgy enough for radio and his fanbase is older now

The club music scene is mostly stripped down trap beats and hooks..it alienates artists like 50 who actually tries to rap with aggressive content...if he was a punchline rapper he would probally be able to still be relevent

but songs like FUNERAL which is actually a good song is not helping the situation

LUDA on the other hand still has potential..his features as someone noted is still nice and he can work the r&b collabo lane like that kelly rowland song he did vause he lighthearted and can appeal to ladies

But the main issue is THE BUSINESD MODEL HAS.CHANGED

One thing luda 50 and.nelly have in common is that they are album based artists

and as Stebe Stoute says these kids arent buying into the artists brand or thier albums

they just want the quick rush of a single

Oh boy...
This is a tough line-up...
But I gotta say 50 fell off worse...
Nelly was an underdog, Luda was an underdog, 50 Cent had Dre and Em's wave to ride...

This ^ Luda can always come thru for a nice guest feature...

But 50 Cent is the very last person I'd call to jump on my radio hit...
HELL NO...

That repetitive mumble flow...

Meeehhhhh, not true. These kids aren't buying into the brand of these older nikkas but they do for the young swag era cats.
