Yeah Australia could become the move. They speak English, get paid. If more HS stars did it it would be super viable because they'd be both playing against each other and against grown men
I think in the next two years somebody is going to take that 125K and play in the G League. It’s an untapped market.

The G League stigma needs to be broken. It seems like the league for washed up/never gonna make it type of players. It doesn't have a "youthful freshness" to it. Still feels hidden

Which is a misnomer because if your a real
Prospect you should be able to ball their, imagine Zion last year in the G League.

Problem is a lot of the young kids won't make it in the league and you will be exposed faster in the G-League then college. At least if you go to school you can get a decent rookie contract before they discover you're trash. Of course a guy like Zion can do whatever he wants

Which makes no sense because the average age of the G-League is younger than the NBA.

I think the real issue is, the G-League has good enough players where an 18 year old can be exposed as not being ready. See with Euroleague, they would just be on some seniority shyt and Australia/China, the talent is a step up, but still not at the Euroleague standards.

In college, they would get the ball and go. In G-League, you have to be a pro and prove yourself. And they won't just automatically give you minutes, if the guy at your spot, who is 24 years old is better than you. Sure you may be better in 3 years, but that means nothing.

The NBA has a conundrum. They would love 18 year olds in the G-League, but even with 28 G-League teams, why would any of the teams want to develop the player for one (1) year only for them to be drafted by another organization. It may be a situation where if a HS player enters the league, the teams have their rights for up to 5 years, plus a 6th QO, with that first year mandatory to play in the G-League.

No one wants to develop a kid and then right when he finally knows how to play, it's time for a huge payday. It's counterproductive.

Yeah I’m speaking strictly about guys like Zion only the top high school players everybody else should go to school. RJ Barrett is a player that would have been better off being a full time hooper last ywar

Freshness is a good word, and age max would be great, all those guys over 25 should be overseas anyway. Maybe split the league on half, go G league for prospects and young guy and Journey league for old vets and long term G league players.
