Meaning New York is too over crowded for me. I need room/space. Not saying I could never live in New York but the amount of money I'd need to make there to be comfortable and enjoy it is astronomical

I am in NJ and in NY pretty often, I myself cant ever live in NY for that same reason, its the reason why a lot move from ny to nj to get a little extra space, I cant be having connecting walls with my noisey ass neighbor. And Driving in the city blows

I feel bad for the people who don't explore their options.

I have friends killing themselves just to make ends meet. That will never be me.

Obvious size and aesthetics of homes aside, I wonder what those taxes looking like though...TX has some heavy property taxes, but no income taxes...but NY has high income taxes, but not sure about property taxes.

I think in Texas if you have cows grazing on your property, your property taxes go way down...

property taxes are obscene here
idk anyone with cows but Texas gonna get their cut one way or another
just not through income tax

home owners insurance is high too

Yeah I finally understand what New Yorkers mean when they say this.

I was there a couple of times for work and rented a car. Was a pain getting around when I wanted to go see my cousins in BK and BX. Damn near demoralizing.
Then I fukked around and went to see my homegirl in Manhattan a few times. Almost slit my wrist out of frustration.:sadcam:
The shyt we do for some p*ssy, brehs :snoop:

NY is pricy, but it still is livable. No one is renting shoeboxes at $3k a month unless they want to but there are other options just like there are in any other metro city.

My cousin makes $140 a year and shares an apartment in BK for $1600 (her share) a month. That's the same as she would be paying to live in any major West Coast city, except she would not be making $140 over here as she was only getting $95-100 before she moved. That means in the South it would be $70 or less and she would save approx $12k a year to live in the South but would make $50-70k more working in the NY or a WC city. Do the math!

At least there's room for career advancement and more opportunity in NY than there is in the South. I don't know why people on this board continue to compare apples to oranges. I'm not a NYer either.
