We took our son to swimming lessons at the Y and it was mandatory for a parent to be in the water with their child. They also had a lifeguard on duty.

Unfortunately that’s how most private lessons are. They make the parents leave because it makes the kids nervous and the parents act a fool if they suspect the kid is having issues. Not saying it’s right but that’s the way it is…

That’s the main reason I haven’t done it for my son. Trying to find a place that will let me be there the entire time.

Damn. My parents first put me in swim classes a 5. This was the 90s. All the parents stayed. Moms didn't start leaving me there until Ibwas 9 and I begged her to go.

Edit. This cap. She saying they set the parents in another room. Apparently parents are distractions. I only wanted her to leave so I could lie about pick up time so I coule hang out with the messican kids
