If 343 is so successful why are executives implying the game a disappointment and laying off all these workers?
Executives are not implying this and there was lots of layoffs at microsoft. There will also be lots of hiring. This is common in gaming. Same thing Happened at Naughty Dog after TLOU2 came out.

Halo has too much nostalgia tied to it. 343 needs to be unchained from that legacy so they can create a new product people will judge on it's own merits instead of reminiscing about the good old days and saying this new product comes up short.
Halo will never, not be heavily scrutinized.

If they change it too much, Long time fans will complain, if they don’t change it enough new people will never be interested. Infinite found a happy medium. They just can’t keep content flowing in a way to retain people amongst huge competition.
Still Halo is a result of Xbox's leadership incompetence problem. It's a microcosm for the problems at Xbox Studios in general. Halo Infinite should have been further delayed but it's clear leadership couldn't help themselves then they make 343 employees suffer layoffs for their own incompetent leadership that lead to the release of a still in development unfinished product that as time went on was less and less well received.
Would be no point in further delaying if the content pipeline is the same. If the game released today they’d still have problem gettting content out.
This hands off approach clearly isn't working out. That's how we getting games like Fable and Perfect Dark announced years ago, going dark, in development hell, and rumors spilling out that development isn't working out has to be rebooted or other studios are being brought in external to the company to assist.
Again. All of this is made up by you stan’s on the internet.

Naughty Dog announces factions. It doesn’t come out when it was first planned. That was 2 years ago. They’ve said literally NOTHING about the game. All is well.

Microsoft announces they are building a brand new team and a brand new game, just 2 years in now, you are already convinced the game is in “development hell”

Like i said, perception is more real than reality to some of you :smh:

Halo 5 was known to have sold over 5 million but there aren't any definitive numbers on total sales of any of the games. Microsoft didn't release any. After The Bungie Halo games such info has been withheld.
Not true. Check the post right above you.

Like I said, y’all just make up these stories in your head and go on believing them and spreading them :francis:

There have been 7 halo games released since 343 took over, until Infinite. 35 million between 7 games including the bungie games still selling

Thats not impressive for microsofts biggest ip, (and who knows how they’re fluffing numbers) Spider-Man and Miles Morales alone sold 33 million. TLOU is at 37 with 4 games.

God of War is at 27+ with just the 2 recent games

Define what it means when you say "sold" does that mean sold at retail and not including Game Pass numbers? Does it include the Master Chief Collection and Halo games Bungie made that were made available on PC in both a collective bundle and individually sold? You're quoting a murky at best PR number. Is that number on any officially released documents that the SEC would hold them accountable to?

It's like Netflix saying if I saw 2 minutes of a show that could be almost an hour I watched it. Until Microsoft puts Halo numbers of official financial statements that's just PR puffery.

Anniversary was still with Bungie and not included in the 35 million in posted above.

And naughty Dog has released 5 games in the same time :stopitslime:

It says copies sold. You said they didn’t release numbers, they did. They say copies sold. Gamepass didn’t even exist through most of that time.

More than 81 million Halo games have been sold since the franchise debuted in November 2001. Microsoft did not provide a sales breakdown by game

From the article you quoted. We'd need an actual sales breakdown to know if what you're claiming is true.

How many copies has Halo 4 sold?
Halo 5?
Halo Infinite?
We have detailed numbers made available for the individual Halo games sold when Bungie was making them released directly by Microsoft. We don't have those numbers for any of the 343i games. The closest we have is someone at 343 saying Halo 5 sold over 5 million. Beyond that we know nothing.
