If they really wanna maximize this, have Cena beat the crap out of R Truth.
If you really wanna immortallize the storylin and also give R Truth his flowers for a great career:
Have R-Truth get savagely beat by Cena after attempting to talk sense into him. The crowd loves Truth, so it'll really highlight how far gone Cena is.
Fast forward near the end of Cena's run, have him start questioning himself and showing signs of the good man still being in there deep down.
Have Cena in a jam where he's really about to do something terrible, but R-Truth is able to show back up months later to inspire Cena to go back to his old self.
Bam wham jam. Cena is back, redeems himself by linking back up with Truth, and can retire a good guy, plus you give R Truth something to do - which he always deserves.

It wouldn't surprise me if Cena still shows up for those appearance and just quietly lets them know he's still a good guy and to not pay attention to the TV
I could totally see Cena breaking kayfabe just not to break kids hearts. He's an ambitious and selfish man. All great man are - even the good hearted ones. We tend to want what we want regardless of realism/difficulty. He wants to goon for his last run, but he also still wants to be the hero he always has been to them kids.
If he truly declines all Make a Wish appearances I'd be shocked, but definitely would respect the commitment to the character. We're in for an exciting ride man.

Well he planned on not doing any more make a wish 13 years ago when he was supposed to turn heel. But this his last year before he may start disappearing long term. So he may still do some behind the scenes but won't be advertised by WWE
The show should start off with CM Punk talking about how Cena was always a p.o.s and out for self, that they’ll cross paths down the line. Then turn his attention to Seth and unload on him costing him main eventing Mania. Need Gunther to lay Jay out something fierce, like getting carted out.

She gave ya'll nearly a year with the tag belts and elevated that shyt alongside Jade and Naomi. Once they lost that shyt, watch the relevancy of those belts sink like a boulder unless HHH books with intent and meaning.
