I really don't get all of the hype about living in NYC being in Northern California
I love to visit but I look at it like Vegas . Its fun to make a trip , but not a residence. I want to keep my whip and put that $3,000K a month towards a mortgage, NOT FOR A APARTMENT.
My homegirl in SF wants me to consider The City and I'm listening. I'm single, NOT settled down and that makes me feel out of place in Sacramento, among other things. But Sac's close to everything else. Drove to Lake County last evening (2hrs away) and the scenery was piff. I didn't know Jellystone Park really existed near Clear Lake
Don't hate on the South if you never been. Had a ball when I was in Dallas and Atlanta.
dont get the appeal of nyc living in sacramento
im making this face right now in real life: u sure. * u sure face *
u should move to SF with ur friend . rent is just as rapey as it is in ny tho
With this generation is becoming quite the opposite now. Families are actually moving back into the cities now. I highly doubt they are as likely to move to the burbs as they did back in the 1950s.
I was born and raised in the suburbs and I honestly have no desire to live in the suburbs. It's just boring as all hell out there.
what is to do in ATL except get butt raped? In the suburbs of ATL have a 5 bdrm 3 1/2 bath all brick, 2 car garage, full basement, with a sun room and deck. My mortgage is 600

I wouldn't brag if I were you
Plus many suburbs are now having the same bad crime rates cities used to have years ago.
1700 sq ft, 2 car garage, backyard. They pay 1095 monthly, I get 985 after my property mgmt co takes 10%.
The women are indeed bad as fukk, but my days of pulling ass are way behind me.
me and wifey looking for a spot now but we have to settle for the bronx. theres alot of 1 bedrooms for under 1400 a month if you know where to look. we wanna stay in uptown manhattan cause thats where we are more familiar and where our immediate family lives, but even in the heights the choice is small box with a kitchen/living room for 1400 or a old ass building with mice and roaches for 1300. got my eye on this spot near yankee stadium for 1100 tho.
Shieet. When I lived in Pittsburgh I had a whole house for $500 a month plus utilities.
But, I had nothing to do. All my friends were leaving or already left. After a while, I couldn't find any work that wasn't cooking or cleaning after school. Couldn't meet any women. Couldn't meet any people. The nightlife sucked. I just felt like I just clashed horribly with everything in that city. I was pretty much a loner and besides the fact I hated the f*ck out of that place, I was miserable. I was paying next to nothing for next to nothing.
I've been living here in New York for almost a year and I just feel like a different person. Much better than before. Meeting people is no problem, but I can have my personal space too. There are so many opportunities. I've already been through 4 jobs in that time frame. I think the one thing to take into consideration is not just the cost of a place, but also what it can offer someone.
As a first gen Nigerian/West Indian, I was so sick and tired of living in Pittsburgh. I couldn't and didn't fit in there at all. It's nice to meet more people who share my same background and connect with others on different levels. Sure, I pay out the ass...but it's not like I'm going to live here forever.
