NYC
I honestly cannot imagine living anywhere in the U.S. except NYC, but I understand it's not for everyone.

The only other places I'm considering moving to (Hong Kong and London) are just as / or more expensive...

Not a subscriber to WSJ but I suspect they mean Manhattan, not NYC in general.
A good friend used to live on 79th and York...and I think he paid close to $2,700 for a 1BR in a doorman building. But that was 2007.

I went to Manhattan 5 years ago, to see one of my friends, my boy and I saw he was living in a less then 500 square ft studio for like 3,000, with two other guys. And, NY was dope as fukk, I loved the city, the financial district, Willamsburg, LES, Midtown, Harlem, saw 'The Dark Knight' on the day it came out at Union Square at like midnight,..loved the city, know I COULD live there in a second.. I could do it, but that struggle? Nah.

Los Angeles is a large city and it's very spread out. There may be more celebrities there, but because they tend to hang out in certain areas, they tend to be grouped together.
Have you ever been to downtown Los Angeles? It's unimpressive and filled with homeless people. So you'll see celebrities on the boulevard or up in Hollywood...hiking up to the sign or out in hipster areas like Los Feliz or Santa Monica. Or in Orange County -- it's much nicer.

New York City is so much more condensed. Millions of people packed into a tiny area (I'm mainly referring to Manhattan).
And everyone has things to do. So the reality is, you could be walking by celebrities every day and not even know it because you're focused on other things.
I've seen a few celebrities during my commute in to work.

Nice try :stopitslime:

Best weather, nice beaches, women (take your pick), best smoke, just as much culture and diversity as NY, just as popular as NY, more spreadout, and sports teams that actually win. LA

Boston Celtics? Yankees? Giants? :stopitslime:

I've lived in LA. It's not even close to the diversity of New York.
As far as the winning sports teams, well, lately...touche.

NY is kind of overrated...but then again, it's not for everyone.

I personally could never imagine living in Houston or anywhere in Texas. Or any Southern cities. That's just me. I would rather just keep it in the Northeast/East Coast. I enjoy the diversity and the sights and sounds that this city has to offer.

I really want to move out to SF or LA.
NY is not overrated breh.

I live in NYC and I NEVER see celebrities whenever I go to Manhattan.

I never heard people liking NYC just because they might see a celebrity. LA? Yeah but not NYC.

I always see celebrities every time I'm in brooklyn. The dude from the OC was at my friends show last week.

2 weeks ago I seen Pusha T and Ron Artest near the W hotel, but other than that I've never seen a celeb lol. Maybe if you're in manhattan/time square 24/7 then you'll probably spot some celebs being low key.
