That's what y'all gotta understand about battling. There's more to it than just writing a rhyme.

Going first or second can change the outcome. Sometimes people pay attention to non rap shyt like: it's almost impossible to beat a (decent) female rapper if there's females in the crowd.

LL did win, but not for better bars.

when that tape came out I was in NY, I went to the record store and bought the cassette tape single. I had thought that Canibus had won at the time and even till later when my older cuz from queens, who he told me he introduced KRS one to Mike Tyson. lol Poeple know him in ny it seems at all the patries back in the day and shyt. Anyway, we where in the car and he came back to miami not that long after and i told him nah canibus won and he was like did you hear the LL joint, he was right in thinking i was not hearing clearly,lol.. But i was like nah i did but canibus won. Then Years later on I put I ran back that LL diss and and listened to it more clearly. lol. Since then i know LL won for sure. I was impressed by canibus ryhmes but i feel LL was more potent.

99% of your fans don't exist :ohlawd:

That's just one of those checkmate bars that you can't overlook, it won LL the battle.

It's like Quiks bar "you left out the g cos the g ain't in you"

You just ain't coming back from that
It's one of those cases where Canibus diss had a lot more impact especially since it was released as a single. But I loved that LL come back to and thought it was hard as hell too.

C True Hollywood Stories is the worst. It only has 1 good song.

But yeah, Canibus' catalog is pretty solid.

LL won the war, but everything in his dis was a direct response to what Canibus already said....even though they did pack quite a punch...

"Don't ever open your mouth and mention my seed, talking bout my book YOU BOUGHT to read..."

:banderas: I see now this diss word to word. Like the shyt was surreal when it dropped. Folks forget that LL for the time was not one to be messed with on wax.

Ice T didn't touch the mic, and Kool Moe D tried his hardest. Yet somehow someway, this skinny nerdy weirdo from Canada who was an entire demon on the freestyle tip, decided to be called on the 4321 remix.

The mic tattoo line, despite how mango the beef starter was, made folks question the "GOAT". How can this dweeb poutine eating nobody somehow manage to throw a rock at the giant without repercussions.

Sadly, The Ripper Strikes Back was the end of the chapter. The "99 percent of your fans don't exist" line was a wrap. It further proves that nothing can stop the machine, not even a machine gun:francis:

He generally doesn't make good music. There's no mystery. Couldn't really maximize on his exposure.

Bis is a dope MC, but an idiotic artist.

  • Signed to Clef like those gnarly beats were the wave
  • Couldn't structure a song to save his life
  • Did not blend well with the industry (sadly)
  • Rather write like a skitzo Walt Whitman over being a cohesive rapper
  • Worse business deals that would make the Monopoly man pistol whip him all over Broadwalk
Sad state of affairs. I will never forgive him for that notebook shyt. Never:mjcry:
