Kobe in his prime was a great and formidable player, one of the best to play the game, but Kobe was very fortunate to play with one of the most dominant big man to ever play the game. Kobe was very fortunate to play for a winning franchise at the time, if you would've place Kobe on the Cleveland Cavaliers or some other inferior team, I highly doubt Kobe would've won 5 rings, maybe two.
