He is...using moviegoers as a gauge of this is silly because the majority of moviegoers are clueless when it comes to source material or these characters and will go simply because it's the summer blockbuster, the trailers, the advertising machine behind the movie and yes the fact that a movie is PG-13 means there will be greater chance of penetration among the moviegoer population.

I'm not pulling this out of my ass...it's a science dude.

So Deadpool is more popular than Superman because he happens to be a hit with a niche crowd that populates message boards and read comics? That makes him more popular?

I guess we should just discard the fact that 999/1000 people you see on the street wouldn't even have the slightest clue who he is even if you showed them a picture?

999/1000 people you see on the street wouldn't be able to tell you much about the Fantastic Four either, what's your point?

I already told you that Superman is more iconic.

Since when do we judge general popularity by using comic book sales?

What cacs are angry about this? Everywhere ive seen people are :ehh: about the whole project and seem to agree that jordan is a good actor. If i had any complaints its that they are too young. Even if they get to a 3rd movie theyll still look like late 20s. Richards, sue and thing always seemed older to me and johnny just a little younger than them.

Wait, so we don't judge comic book sales to judge the popularity of comic book characters.
:patrice:

How do we judge them then?

Are we trying to measure how popular certain characters are with COMIC BOOK READERS or how popular they are with the general public.

Because when I originally made the claim about Superman I wasn't just talking about people who read comics.

If Superman's comic book sales are in decline then fine, maybe he's at not the forefront of THAT culture anymore.

But that doesn't mean Superman as a fictional entity is any less popular than fukkin DEADPOOL.
