yeah, pretty much. his handlers are gonna put in place the framework to work as shadow presidents, while he golfs and holds his stupid rallies

but i'll say this. if the republicans get in there, pass a tax cut, pass a real border bill (which i hope they do), economy seems to improve, stock market keeps going up...dems are looking bad for the immediate future. i mean, now we know that protecting abortion ain't shyt :mjlol: so what the fukk are we left to counter with?

They'll tank the economy like they always do and we'll be right back to 2008/2020 and a well speaking centrist will bring the country together. Rinse, repeat.
This is assuming the country is still intact once Trump croaks.

It’s not all about policies or economy as we’ve seen

Trump is a once in a lifetime cult like candidate these other republicans are mini me’s of him who aren’t popular

Dems will have an easier time against them

the only way they tank the economy, is if trump puts his tariffs in place. and that was just a stupid campaign promise that wasn't gonna happen

tax cuts aren't gonna tank the economy. won't even kick in for a while. unless, of course, the massive debt that we've added from 2020-2024 bursts :dead: that could happen too

I think racism/Misogyny/xenophobia played the biggest part, but we cant keep discontinuing economic anxiety. I’ve been guilty of it myself.

Racism doesn’t explain the shift in Latinos and black men for Trump. I also think the 15 million drop in her popular vote from 2020 numbers requires a more nuanced explanation.

There wasn't that much of a shift in black men, Harris still got 80%. And you'd be naive to think 'cism wasn't a factor with Latino men.

Of course inflation hurt Kamala too, but I feel like "economic anxiety" gets used to excuse :mjpls: behavior way too often because it's easier.

The previous Trump tax cuts are directly affecting the economy now. A lot of middle class people pay more in taxes because of them. Not to mention how his mishandling of Covid screwed things up. You have to remember he's incompetent and stupid. Multiple ways he can fukk things up especially if he listens to the Project 2025 idiots.

Looking at this more and man....there was no policy issue to fix this. There was no vice president choice to fix this. This was simply about the same thing that has happened in multiple western democracies since covid: incumbents getting smoked due to inflation, high prices, etc. The thing that kills me is that inflation has been dropping for months, the Fed hit the soft landing (perfectly), the jobs market has been humming....everything was there but the costs simply didn't lower fast enough for enough people.

I hope people realize that's the ball game. It's basically over from here. Trump will replace Alito and Thomas. He'll add more federal judges. He'll decimate a lot of government jobs, which black people have traditionally benefited from. Ukraine is fukked. Iran is fukked. More stupid policy towards China. And more privatization of government. And Elon with a hand in all of it. I'm sick.

Only saving grace is that Trump will crash the economy if he gets his way on tariffs. Just based on my vantage point in finance....a lot of people simply don't believe the tariff shyt is going to happen. And he has plenty of people in his camp advising him against it. The problem is that there are others pushing for it, and sooner or later he's gonna do what he always does and make idiotic terrible decisions.

That's what's annoying about the DOJ not getting his ass outta here. Biden in a wheelchair probably runs the table against DeSantis, Rubio, Haley etc.
