I was thinking this shyt reminded me of Brexit more than 2016. It has some of the same dynamics as well.

1. Xenophobia
2. Some level of economic pain
3. clownish ridiculous leaders on the Pro Brexit side
4. Misinformation and disinformation
5. Distrust of technocrats and institutions.
6. A very gullible voting public.
I was telling my boys this is gonna be our Brexit. God help us if he does what he wants to do economically, much less socially

You do understand a good majority of progressives were in the field for Kamala the same way they were Biden? Like you really think progressives lost this election and not the fact that we are in the midst of a housing crisis where a lot of people can barely afford groceries? What the fukk do you want progressives to do about the right wing media machine shaping the perception of Biden's presidency to be an absolute failure? All I see progressives bytching about with Biden is Gaza and not being able to reign in Manchin and Synema. You think that made latinos have a generational swing for Trump? Or is it maybe something deeper beyond what your emotions are telling you

I agree, this and eating their own have always been my main critiques of the left. Its Defund the police vs Law enforcement oversight all over again

Latinx is a dumbass term andillegal immigratiom is an unpopular issue I agree with those things. And as I said before, idc about trannies beyond that I aknowledge they're humans and deserve the rights of any other human. The tranny thing with you specifically is more so about the randomness in which you'll pull it out in discussion :dead: Nothing will be funnier than you getting a Kamala tranny rally text. When you posted that in here I thought you were voting R off the principle of it alone
at the end of the day, the economy was obviously the #1 issue. and the awful decision to stick with the biden/harris ticket, tying Democrats to inflation, was the nail in the coffin. newsom or shapiro would have done better, but maybe they still lose anyway. we'll never know

my critiques are just how i feel the dems will do better going forward. the idea of moving farther left makes me want to throw up

and we just LOST TO THE RIGHT :why: that's not the electorate asking for farther left anything

THIS WAS NOT ABOUT MOVING LEFT.

They literally said its about the economy on everywhere.
I think the economy played a small role this election.
I think “the economy” is just the default safe answer when people are polled or a mic is put in front of them.

Trump ran on immigration, hammered home how unsafe the southern border was and how bad the people coming were every time he got the chance and killed a Dem effort to address it.

I think it’s clear what issue won this.

1st Round Playoff Exits
So last night, I got a text saying my signature didn’t match my id. Well I moved to Nevada earlier this year, and at the dmv, the signature you do is on a digital platform so, there’s no way to properly replicate it.

I got up at 2am this morning and verified my information by scanning my id and doing a facial recognition picture.

@No1

Just now got this text.

Crazy, they just sent me another saying my ballot may not have been validated

They’re trying suppress votes @No1

I didn't say they lost the election, I said they sowed division within the party the same way that the alt-right was allowed to go unchecked on Twitter and other spaces...

So anyone in the middle like Biden and Harris were getting dunked on from both sides.... and made to look incompetent and made to be seen as the primary reason why working class voters are paying more at the grocery stores.

The everyday person doesn't understand shyt about how the economy works or how inflation works, sowing division in the party only helps with furthering the narrative that these things were Biden's fault.

It depends what you mean by moving to the left. Ive been saying this whole cycle that Dems gotta stay away from social justice culture war shyt. Just do what you do in office but dont talk abour it. The Dems needed more policies that would financially benefit people in simple to understand terms. Kamala had a comprehensive 80 page plan but nobody but us in here is reading ts

Ofc its easy to say what they should've done on hindsight but the path forward to me imo should be more economic populism and on social issues it should be "The government has no place restricting your social issues." Gays can be gays, trehs can be trehs, theys can be theys but that way we aren't stuck talking about what that pertains to because we aren't discussing it directly

Also talking about shyt that doesnt need to be talked about, like banning fracking, is the goofy shyt that need to reassed. I'm aware Kamala moved away from that position this cycle but in 2019 it was just such a pandering move to give herself credit with leftists. If you want to ban fracking, do it after you win and bare the consequences (so long as theres some sort of plan in place to accomodate the economic fallout). Climate change is important for sure but why not make it better for people financially (such as tax breaks) if you own an EV? Or use solarpanels or something. You gotta get people off oil dependency, such as cars, before you talk about banning shyt that produces oil. Theyve been making it too easy for Rethugs to fear monger without anything to fall back on

So this brings me back to my greater point. If progressives have that kind of juice to dampen the vibes by sewing division within the party, why not court their vote? This whole cycle the train of thought in here was going for the progressive vote would alienate would be Republican voters. Consciously we are all aware that this was a decision made. Obviously Kamala and her policies are infinitely better for progressives but not every progressive person ideologically is politically aware like the progressives you probably engage with online. Thats what gives us people who have Gaza as their hot button issue despite not being Palestinian or Muslim. Thats why we end up with people protest voting for Jill Stein. You have to appeal to these people you can't just exprect anyone but party soldiers to fall in life

Blame progressives all you want but the campaign targeted moderates and women. The only group that didnt disappoint was black women, as usual

How do you explain the 15 million voters that didn't show up?
Was immigration their main issue?

These are the only positive takeaways I could muster brehs

1. America was already declining, he's just accelerating the process

2. We'll all be dead in 100 years and none of this will matter (at least it won't matter to us, the dead ones)

That's all I got
