Can't really speak about the latinos in the U.S tbh but at least in south america, most of the immigrants don't want more immigrants and a good number tends to demonize or fall into disinformation games about other immigrants. There's a lot of "we ain't like THEM" narratives at least from what I've seen over here.

No idea if something similar happens in North America but I wouldn't be shocked about it.
