Ive been seeing comments from conservatives that seem confident about the election say things like this. A quote from reddit: "The RCP "This Day In History" is telling. In 2016, it was Clinton + 1.6. In 2020, it was Biden +7.9. Today, its Trump +0.6"

Can anyone break that down for me?

1) Trump supporters are delusional.

2) Republican pollsters have flooded the zone with a punch of pro-Trump polls compared to 2016 & 2020.

3) Most non-partisan pollsters are terrified of underestimating support for Trump again, so they have oversampled Trump voters in their polls.

It not only means things are going well because of that but Dems wanted to downplay good polling so they don’t get complacent. Him being positive publicly must mean he’s confident in a high turnout

I don’t think they downplayed good polling as much as they knew that there was a lot of time left on the clock for a shift. They’ve basically made it to the weekend before without the core of the campaign on message and the opponent in a cycle of attacking or offending key voting groups. Getting to the GOTV portion with the momentum like he said is good place to be.

I get it but Trump became a convicted felon beginning of summer and he's still very much in play to be president (though i think he'll lose)
