It's taking me a while to figure out how the Democratic Party in particular got to this moment and why they're down the way they are.

And I'm sure most people on this board have already acknowledged it- but back in 2016 when they cheated Bernie Sanders out of the nomination. I disagree with Bernie on policies but he was completely popular and would have beaten Trump. He even went on Fox News and people were loving him from the conservative sphere. Most of what he wanted probably wouldn't have happened anyway but he would have destroyed Trump.

That's where the downward spiral began- at the time both parties had a nominee that was unconventional outside of their typical thought of who would be a palpable nominee. One party decided to make sure that they got the guy the nomination.

The other one pulled behind the scenes shenanigans to get the more mainstream of what they thought would be an acceptable candidate. It completely blew up in their faces and they're still living with the ramifications 9 years later.

To continue on the Bernie Sanders thing

It showed that you could not get who the people actually wanted it was going to get who you decided was going to be in charge. That's why Trump is so popular in the Republican Party -The people got exactly what they wanted

And that it wasn't a democracy. People did not want Clinton and they were explicitly clear in 2008 they did not want Clinton they were clear in 2016- where her popularity never hovered in favorable views. This wasn't some former popular governor who just hit a losing streak due to unfortunate circumstances- this was a massively unpopular woman and they still shoved her down people's throats.

There were enough branches in the government to keep Bernie in check from some things that just weren't going to be fiscally or legislatively possible.

And when people found out they couldn't get who they wanted they rebelled against the party.

Some probably even defected to Trump just to stick it to people.

That's why in my opinion it's critically important that when the deportations happen and people start getting the boot to sit on your hands and do absolutely nothing. Don't return the calls from the business owners.

Don't return the calls from the churches. Don't return the calls from the ACLU- do absolutely nothing and let the people go.

I don't care if the landlords are crying. I don't care if the farmers are crying. I don't care if the restaurant owners and hotel owners are crying or the cleaner companies are crying. Heck, open the door for them.

Give them exactly what they wanted.

Anyone else feel like Trump is the only one running for president? Kamala feels like a made up thing, like she’s so non-existant at this point. its such a fukking travesty how they fumbled a sure thing after Biden dropped out. I saw an advisor say she skipped Rogan because of sheduling. Like is it so hard to fit it in and give her a chance to show her personality? The Trump interview is at 35 million views on YT alone

Harris is 99% likely to win the popular vote.
No one else feels like this. She’s literally campaigning in Philly with John Legend, Springsteen and Obama right now. Get your head out of your a$$
Cant remember the last time i really negged somebody.

felt good :camby:
:dahell: She just spoke in front of 30k people and a million wanted to attend.
This guy must be pretty bad. I have him on ignore and I haven’t ignored anybody in over a year at minimum

The Coli.com echo chamber yall :pachaha:

yeah, but they don't want to, because it's mutually assured destruction

and it was harry reid who ended 60 votes on judges :dead:

We need to get rid of the Filibuster. Let the majority party pass their vision of the county unencumbered.

Let Americans really truly see the impact of their votes without the guardrails of the filibuster.

I’ve come to the conclusion that the problem doesn’t lie with scumbag politicians, it lies with the ignorant, stupid and gullible American public.

Reaping the benefits or facing the consequences for their actions is the only way that Americans will learn not to be serious about elections.

And yes, before you Zionist bootlickers start getting sassy, I was ready and willing to live with the consequences of abstaining from casting a vote for Biden.

breh, you just said "let's use the money we spend on the department of education for roads and bridges"

i don't think i'm out of line asking how you would then pay for education....unless DOE spending is, in fact, wasteful bullshyt :dead:
No wonder you in the bushes.

If someone ain’t talking about trannies you ain’t paying attention.

Cut off the entire preceding sentences just to be wrong
What are you talking about.

I’m talking about using the money from ending federal programs like Education or HUD. If the money is going back to the states to decide then have the blue states, New York and Cali being the two biggest, pull together and use it across the blue states. A blue state initiative to focus on bridges, roads, housing, non-Texas school books in those states.

Conservatives can’t complain. It’s not their money.

Let‘s test this states right for four years.

The funny thing about this is founders knew this before America was even a country, word to the masses are asses. The main thing that has kept America from going off the rails is in times of crisis good men and women throwing themselves in the woodchipper for a greater purpose. In 2024 this country is populated with self serving pussies who would rather elect the woodchipper as president

Progressives take on Kamala’s loss is so hilarious.

“The reason these racist white ppl didn’t vote for a black and brown woman is not because their racist, it’s because Kamala didn’t promise free healthcare, free college, weed and bypass the president, Congress annnnd Israel’s government to end the war in Gaza before dinner time!!!”
