When one teams base is motivated by hate and the other teams base is motivated by 47 different individual things, it’s a little easier to rile up the former.

Dems are going to have to figure out a way around this. Trump (hopefully) will be gone by 2028 but they’ll be running his playbook back.

Democrats aren’t a party - they’re a European style coalition. The one thing that motivates everyone in America is their pocketbook. It’s like they forgot Obama was running singing kumbaya and making white people feel good about racism.

He’s not wrong. It’s literally what Obama said about when white people feel abandoned economically they cling to their guns and religion. I don’t know what else you want him to say. He said Trump acknowledged the problem and gave an excuse for it. Democrats are very technocratic or say that things are mostly going well. The average person isn’t using GDP as an indicator. Democrats wanted to run on the great job they did with the economy when no one feels great because of inflation.

Maybe one day he’ll realize he needs to stop chasing this mythical group that hasn’t been their base for decades.

They’ve managed to win the popular vote 90% of the time recently while abandoning the working class? No white supremacy just realized they were down in the fourth quarter of an elimination game and played like it.

Dems need to spend time and energy finding the commonalities amongst their actual base and use that to get them to show up next time. They are being pulled in 30 different directions trying to appease every group and it won’t work when the opposite side is a united cult.

Great but losing 20 percent of black men and nearly half of latinos means you have structural issues beyond repair. Getting less black support after the last 4 years is a problem. More black people as a percentage voted for John Kerry!!!

You can either accept it and fix it, or be a fake opposition party like the Democrats in Japan. No one wants to vote for effete elites who talk down to you. If the answer is "this is racism" than we'll never have another black candidate again ( which should not be the case because a black male candidate would get all of these voters back...)

So sexism is a legit complaint, but why the fake primaries?

Democrats need a complete and utter rebuild. And actually, reach out to other non-black minorities.

Your comment about the prospective Senate leadership is incomplete.

Thune and Cornyn have had beef with Trump in the past, but that is not longer the case because they know that they need his support to be Senate Majority Leader. They have fallen in line as of recent times.

The Republican Party is a cult, anyone on the Federal level who wants to remain in an elected position either needs to fall in line behind Trump, or they will be excised from the Party.

So why Maga and Trump set pissed Mitch holding senate leadership elections with a secret ballot as to keep the votes anonymous from republicans?

So where is the balance? GOP caters to the loudest of their demons. They double/triple down on their loudest and boldest, and others fall in line.
That being said, for 6 of the 8 Trump years, we learned that the Trump playbook only really works for Trump, and in FL, and NY/NJ of all places. None of the other guys have the sauce to pull it off.

Until the Dems drop all the oligarchs, monsters and ghouls in their party, nothing is gonna change for them. Drop the fukking out of touch celebrity endorsements, the Beyonces, Katy Perrys, Taylor Swifts, John Legends, Streisands etc who share none of the best interests of Americans. There's some truth to it though. Not that I think MSNBC should be like FOX but the truth is that people did not hear enough about Biden's wins. It was mostly negativity.

Democratic platforms and supposed "neutral" platforms never celebrate wins from Democrats. Biden has been at the media's head for 4 years about this.

Meanwhile, the media doesn't discuss how awful Trump's policies are or proposed polices like the tariffs nonsense.

If Biden and the administration made that case for themselves, i highly doubt they wouldn’t cover it.

But the commonalities within the dems base are also common within the republicans base. While you’re right, you probably won’t win them anyway, that’s the strategy you need to even win your side.
