Hope the cubs sign bellinger , they were the only non playoff team with a top 5 era in mlb post all star break. Add bellinger who is still elite defensively(cf))and hypothetically correa , add a defensive catcher who is better than Contreras move hoerner to 2nd up the middle defense will be :ohlawd:

I really am rooting for Detroit.
Not just a sports team but as a city.

I've read that they are doing some infrastructure projects to bridge certain neighborhoods/communities together. And hopefully they can rebuild a lot of those homes that have been abandoned and destroyed in the last 30 years.

How awesome would it be to see Detroit come up as a growing city with improving franchises in the Tigers and Pistons? I think it would be such a great story.
There's so much history over there.

Can someone explain to me why Jacob DeGrom to the Rangers is a possibility? Aren't they a losing team a few years away from competing? Why would DeGrom sign there? They don't strike me as an team that's one ace away from competing...
Same reason bum ass Cole Hamels chose Dallas over Houston. Money

How do you get a better defensive catcher than Contreras :heh: nobody better is on the market unless you trade some important farm pieces for Realmuto (who’s not going anywhere)
I really don’t want Judge on my Dodgers. Don’t know why but it just doesn’t seem right
He won’t get you past the NLDS either :heh:
Dude disappeared just like ARod

Catcher Defensive Adjustment, Baseball Prospectus’ catch-all catcher metric (to oversimplify), has him at -3.2. He was -4.9 in 2021, but was at 3.4 in 2020. More specific metrics (Called Strikes Above Average, Swipe Rate Above Average, etc.) have generally painted him as a slightly below-average defensive catcher. His arm and athleticism count for something, though.

Stick to being an Astros homer doggie :camby:

His framing isn’t good either & I love Contreras, but besides realmuto who’s the best in mlb the catchers in the postseason on every team were defensive catchers. The cubs pitching staff were more successful with Gomes

Navarez & Vasquez fa’s or they can trade for one
