If you look at Romney's 2012 platform it's not dissimilar from Trump 2016.

To be clear the platform Romney ran on in 2012 was quite a bit more conservative than his own record. He was trying to appeal to the Tea Party wave that had started taking over the Republican party.

Um, why did Trump only endorse in 12 races? Because outside of picking celebrities (he can't help but dikkride anyone with an ounce of fame), he mostly just endorsed a few folk he knew would win because he's afraid of being associated with losers.

Yeah but there would be questions on national bans and abortion pills and everything else. Also you run the risk of there being a new Todd Akin or Richard Murdock this cycle.

It wouldn't surprise me if the McCormick campaign paid Sean Parnell to endorse him. I always felt Parnell's endorsement of McCormick weird.
