From a business perspective, it's smart what WWE and ESPN are currently doing to their employees. Fukked up, but smart :ehh:

Force your employees to take a paycut or else risk going into the open market when money is scarce and not necessarily there for everyone. And if you do lay them off, offer to bring them back at a reduced rate knowing that they'll potentially more than likely accept it.

Who did this?

Rumor has it that WWE is planning on doing more layoffs with the notion of trying to bring back said people at a reduced rate. PR wise, they'd be better off just asking talent to take paycuts behind the scenes and save all parties the embarrassment of that information being public knowledge.

Taking a paycut is already demoralizing as it is, but it’s even worse whenever knows publicly that you did in fact do so. Vince and Company have always shown that they don’t give a damn about their talent, so it isn’t surprising in the slightest that they could care less about the PR optics in the way that they do business.

Even ESPN is smart enough not to layoff talent and then bring them back while making it fairly obvious it’s at a reduced rate. They’ll just lay them off and let them go elsewhere.
