Backstage role coaching and scouting. Been saying AEW needs the backstage people (referees, scouting/development, PR, etc.) to further enhance the company.
He'll be on the top of the ramp clapping with other "legends" during reunion/old school RAW nights, maybe give someone a pedigree here or there. His in-ring days are done and he'll soon be enjoying McMahon golden parachute money.
Y'all say this every time they let people go... you would think they've never fired anybody until now, over these whole 60 years or however long it's been in existence.
The people they go have likely been replaced, like most companies. Especially when it comes to NXT, they've been doin' a whole overhaul. I guess it's one of those "everything gotta change" situations.
It's one thing if it were a dozen or so talents but dropping pretty much an entire company's worth of talent over the span of a year is going to raise eyebrows. Bischoff said it best on his podcast that WWE is going through a market correction because of all the talent hoarding they've done over the past several years along with the 5 year contract extensions they were giving to everyone in 2019 to avoid them going to AEW. However, I still think the company will eventually be sold to NBCU at some point within the next couple years.

And the ultimate irony is that the guy who beat them because nobody wanted to watch these guys is now signing all of them thinking it’s gonna boost the ratings on his show
Undisputed Era was the main draw when AEW was beating them in the ratings. People chose not to watch. Now he’s brought them over there giving them the same amount of TV time at the expense of his own guys. It makes no sense.

It looks like old people are getting let go is what's happening.
Fans turned off NXT during that time because they didn’t move those guys up and they were stagnant wrestling the same people. Tony thinks if he cherry picks the best from NXT and gives them new situations it’ll help the show

william regal is the only person I remotely feel bad for, apparently he played a big part in recruiting the workrate indy guys theyre shifting away from so that might be why his job was in jeopardy

Seeing these backstage releases leads me to believe Gargano (and maybe Ciampa when his contract is up) might be AEW bound now.
