Even the Dream Team threw away an exibition game.

Hell, even the real Olympic games before the elimination phase... I remember a close 2016 group game in Rio against Serbia that seemed to have been played with no scouting report, based on how you were defending our non-shooting guards from the bench...

I think your coaching staff loves to not try that much in certain meaningless games... specially when your guys need to focus more on the team assignments... To shake them up a bit...

Not disagreeing with your overall point but how many SGs are better than Beal? I'm only taking Harden over him.

Outside of Harden, I'm gonna give Booker and Mitchell the nod over Beal but even then I fully understand someone saying Beal's better.

But yeah, I don't really agree with people saying this team is a B team, it isn't. I think people are only running with this narrative because Curry and LeBron aren't out there. The very back end of the roster is weak, but when the game gets close, guys like Draymond and Love aren't gonna be out there anyway.

The US got a lot of talent and a lot more than most but that shyt don't fit. It's like everyone needs usage. That shyt just cogs up in this type of game with a smaller court and more physicality. The US should pick teams like soccer teams do but they pick them based on who's the best players available.

I don't know why they didn't call up Trae. He might be the best half-court player in the NBA. Why not call him up.

They might have skipped him cause he doesn't play defense and they already had Dame there as a ball-dominant guard with suspect D.

Considering the players available, if you think CP3 is too old/hurting/wrapped up in the Finals to be selected, then I think they needed to go with Lowry. I would have taken him instead of Beal and either Lopez or Turner instead of Love.

That’s fair, I think I might have gone a little too far with 4th or 5th. I’d take Butler as well, and after that it’s arguable

PG13 count as a shooting guard? And Klay not count cause he's injured?

Mitchell, Brown, Booker I'd say are all arguable.

Dame can't create for others like that and Dame was a turnstile out there today. Trae could do that but he will create for others and his dominance isn't how he shooting depending like Dame.
