I said after the first game they could use Jrue. He was crucial. Just shows the margin of error for team USA is slimmer than ever.

To be fair to Dame, he has had issues with his ribs/sternum for a while now, and while the timing is certainly convenient (as you pointed out, this isn't the first time his supposed injuries have been brought up when he shyts the bed), I do wonder if this was something that was kept in-house during their campaign, as we all saw how he didn't play well throughout the entirety of the Olympics.

Which begs the question: why the hell did Pop play him all those minutes?

Every single rotation where he was relieved, almost always ended up with him coming back as the main guard. He finished with the third-most minutes on the squad, which is ridiculous if this is indeed true and he was hampered by injury. It seemed like Pop was just unnecessarily playing him hoping he'd get out of his funk and he never did. It was a risk that didn't need to be taken, given that he doesn't provide any playmaking and defense, and his scoring/shooting could've been easily replaced by nearly every other guard/wing in the squad.

If that’s the case, then he never should have been out there or on the team in the firsr place.

I kind of see it to the contrary.

In general, the team played like trash, relatively speaking. The coaching wasn't where it needed to be; the rotations were all over the place; certain players played like the worst versions of themselves; they were sleep-walking through large portions of almost every single game; the playmaking came and went - too much ISO and stagnant actions. Besides KD's offense and Jrue's defense, there was nothing pretty about their campaign.

And yet despite all that, they cruised to the gold in the end. Any scare that they had was more their own doing than the opposition.

because hes one of the weirdos who wanted to shyt on KD for losing

You are incapable of having a discussion as many are here Lol. They beat France by 5. A team with one all-star and a few NBA role players. But you want me to agree with you that it was an amazing feat...

it wasn't. The team should have been way better than that.

The 2012 team that was headlined by Kobe, LeBron, KD and Melo beat Spain by 7 in the gold medal game. You dont blow out everybody. This wasn’t anywhere near the best 12 man roster we could have fielded, but they beat the best France had to offer, it doesnt matter how much they won by.

How so? i didn't post during the game so i'm posting now.
Breh, you were damn near rooting against Team USA just because of your anti-KD agenda. Now you’re bigging up Jrue holiday to spite him. It’s see through.

Chip incoming though so get ready to sing DeAndre Bembry’s praises next June
